Well, it finally happened. I got nabbed for speeding on my crotch rocket. What is funny is that I was only doing 80 MPH in a 50. Moments before that I was doing 110 in a 55 and the last time I rode I hit 145 in a 55.
I knew it was only time before it happened. However, where it happened I normally ride around 55 because I know they like to sit in the area. Unfortunately, I was running late this morning and thought I could make up some time.
I've never had a citation before (I'm 36 BTW ;)) and I pulled over as soon as I saw his lights. I assume this was why the cop only wrote me up for "Failing to obey the posted speed limit," which is $70 less and carries no points against my license.
Needless to say, I rode in the rest of the way pretty easy, got to work about 10 minutes late and rode home staying with traffic. I wonder how long this will last? ;)

Are you taking lessons from the "Ghost Rider"?

I remember seeing a video of him driving his crotck rocket to a distance of 200km in around 20mins  talk about fast.

My wife works the night shift in the ER. When ever she comes home with blood on her clothes sometimes id ask her what had happened that night. Occasionally she tells me someone a motorcycle was nailed or ran into this or fell off his bike at speed. She calls people who ride, "organ donors". Thats for free.

I knew I'd get someone to mention the "organ donors" statement. I've heard the stories and have seen the aftermath. I know the hazards well. However, I refuse to live in fear.
I could die in the shower, for crying out loud, but I still take one every day.
There are many ways to bite it, and if we were to avoid all of them, we would never get out of bed. Of course, that would lead to starvation, and ultimately death, so what are you to do in this crazy dangerous world? ;)

The majority of bikers are totally safe drivers even whilist speeding and stuff. Its the other retards on the road id be worried about. Here is the perfect example. http://www.break.com/index/car-blows-red-light-and-hits-biker.html

You cant really say that though, because i know alot of retarted bikers that dont think twice about anything. And the worst part is, they usualy ride stoned and pop wheelies and all.

Yep. I see them all of the time. I keep both wheels on the ground, except in a hard acceleration where the front wheel lifts about 8 inches (technically not a wheelie). And I never ride while intoxicated.
The ones that wheelie are almost always the ones you see weaving in and out of traffic as well. These are the riders that usually end up in the ER.
I speed, and it is dumb, I know. I'm addicted to the rush. I never do it around blind corners and only when I have a safe path in front of me. I may be dumb, but I ain't stupid. ;)
I've learned a lot about motorcycles over the years and pretty much know my limitations on one, whether it be off-road or street. I don't intend to give it up anytime soon and will continue riding as long as I physically can.

I used to ride when I was younger but since all the morons started tearing up the highways on their Rice Rockets the insurance and licensing fees have skyrocketed. Sorry but I have no tolerance for people who blatantly ignore the speed limits and endanger other drivers. If you want to drive fast do it on the race track and not on public roads.:coocoo:

Interesting. My insurance only costs me about $440 per year on my CBR1000RR "Rice Rocket". ;) Registration is only $16 per year and inspection is about the same. If this cost is a "sky rocketed" increase over what you used to pay, damn!
Just so ya know, I've seen fools on Harley D's and other customs flying in and out of traffic, doing it at high speed. It's not just the sport bikes.

Yea, they are probably not "true" bikers though. The real bikers arent stupid.

True Bikers will ride in any weather. Torrential downpours? fog? hail?....been there done that. I used to ride up until late November when the temps were down to -15c. One year I drove for nine full months from March 1st to Nov 31st. Fair weather bikers are wusses
Bike insurance and registration fees are pretty high in Quebec.

I've ridden in foul weather as well. I don't care for it much and prefer dry weather, which is safer BTW. Choose your poison, I guess. ;)
As for real "bikers", I've partied with several. Mostly members of the Pagans. Have you ever been to one of their parties? ;) You see some real stupid sh!t at those parties. I won't go into details, but let's just say that PP's statement above is not true. :p

Been there, done that as well, had both a HD ('42 HardTail) and a 900 Z1 at one time while stationed up in ALASKA..................;) By military regs, we had to lock our bikes up during the winter after the roads became snow packed, which was a darn good idea IMHO.

I won't go into details, but let's just say that PP's statement above is not true.Ahaha true bikers like MC Phoenix and MC Griffins (down here in Texas) or hell even MC Hells Angels dont do stupid **** on the road. At parties, thats a different story. So, my statement is still true. Trust me, i work with them EVERY WEEKEND and have been doing so for about 5 years now.

"EVERYONE" has done stupid crap at one time or the other on the road regardless of what club or group they belong to......;) People as a rule aren't very brite and given the conditions will do something totally stupid, it's human nature after all. Go out and ride with them for a while and you'll learn for yourself.

AMEN to that!!!
seems easy enough, you dont masturbate in public and you dont sh*t where you eat...there is a place for everything
people who (uselessly) put their life and other innocent people's lives in danger with a motor vehicle make me sick.

Yeh my step dad is a bikie (as opposed to biker, who is member of a gang), you know the type, big silver beard, skull tats all over his arms, harly d rings n necklaces n earings etc etc. He's ridden with most the gangs in australia but never joined one. He rides some form of the heritage soft-tail series at the moment, got a purple one imported from the US when he married my mum, cause its her favourite colour lol. My mums a teacher, and every year or so he will ride into the school with a bunch of flowers for her and all the kids stare out the window. Its pretty funny. But yeh, hes also a bodybuilder, came 3rd in the country for the over 50's rofl. So he looks all tough but hes really a big softie underneath :P

Well said. ;-)
Rather than drinking and driving, I speed. Rather than doing drugs, I speed. Rather than beating my wife and kids, I speed. Rather than sniping from a bell tower, I speed. I think you guys the point. I don't do it in traffic, so the only one in danger is me, myself and I. I've been raised to consider others, and so I do.
No track close enough to me to take the bike to, so I usually just open it up on the back roads. Monday was an exception due to how far behind I had fallen and was trying to make up time. :p No one has to agree with me, just don't lump me in with those fools who wheelie down the road and weave in and out of traffic, because I don't do either.

Yeh my step dad is a bikie (as opposed to biker, who is member of a gang)If you like bikes and ect your considerd a biker, bikie, bike junkie ect. A biker isnt neccesarily a gang member. And the above mentioned (besides old skool Hells Angels) arent gangs. They are just group of "brothers and sisters".

Well, I'm just telling you how it was described to me by my step dad. Perhaps they have different definitions over in the states, who knows. And yes your right with the gangs thing, i just used the word gangs cause it was the easiest description for the different groups.

Well my thing is, the term "bikers" used as the stereotype arent all bad, and they arent all cruel or do bad things. Most of them are just like you and me trying to make it in this world. I really hate the horrible stereotype people give them. Sorry for the rant.
