OK. so as of right now i run a small "wireless hotspot" at our resort we own. basically i have a few houndred feet coverage in my house and into a parking lot out front and a small grassy area i cover with free service from my own internet. what i would like to do is extend this range to our pool deck and into our games room to set up a computer for those who aren't fortunate enough to own a laptop to utilize the hotspot. does anyone here have any knowledge on gettin the maximum range out of a wireless network? or a recomendation on some good hardware I.E. network cards for the 2 machines inside and a good router with a lot of range. Also does anyone know much about dd-wrt? i have heard some things about this firmware for linksys routers and getting over a 1000' range. all in all i would like to find a way to cover a 1500' radius without investing a few grande as this is only in use a few months of the year, from may. 16 to sept. 21 when we have a transient client base. thank you

Get some Wireless " n " Routers & network cards. They provide the maximum coverage & speed.I prefer going for Netgear or Linksys products.

For Netgear 802.11n Wireless-N Routers, visit here . (http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/RangeMaxNEXTWirelessRoutersandGateways.aspx)

And for Netgear Wireless-N cards,visit here (http://www.netgear.com/Products/Adapters/RangeMaxNextWirelessAdapters.aspx) .

For Linksys Wireless-N Routers & cards Visit here (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C1&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1115416939789&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=3978991233B01) .

N is out of the question because of what everyone else has in there machines... as of right now i dont think any of the people using it would be able to utilize N or i would go that way for sure. i dont think i could get the wanted range from it in outdoor conditions.
