Hello and thanks for the help.

I just bought the stuff below to build a new computer.
Mother board - XFX nForce 680i LT SLI Socket 775
CPU - Intel Quad Core Kentsfield 2.4Ghz Q6600
RAM x2- OCZ 1024MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz
Video Card - EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS
new hard drive - DVD - OS

I put all this stuff together with hard drive, FDD, DVD drive and im not getting any output to my monitor, speakers.

What it is doing. Blue LED on mobo is on - press power button on case - green and yellow LEDs come on and all fans but thats it. No beeps from speakers and no display on my monitor.

My keyboad and mouse are geeting power from the mobo.

I have the CMOS jumper in the correct spot.

I cant figure it out. If anyone had any idea or help please share.

Thanks

First thing I would try is booting with a single stick of ram and then setting your memory voltage manually in the bios. I've seen this problem a bunch of times already and it also happened to my XFX 680i LT.

Well thats the problem I cant get to the Bios set up. I cant get any output to my monitor. I've tried booting with a single stick of memory in differnet slots and 2 sticks in 0,1 and 2,3. Nothing is working for me.

I'm a little worry that the processor my be shot?

you really need to try some cheap generic RAM. The BIOS is only sending 1.8V and the stuff you have wants likes 2.1V. So it is not getting enough power to boot up. I have seen thi son many of Intel boards also with RAM needing high voltages.

WHAT'S YOUR PSU? Make sure it's strong enough for the setup. Also, have you try to assemble everythign outside of your case?

Got a Ultra 600w X-Finity Power Supply. I've disassembled and assemble it a couples of times now and still nothing.

I have some coming and will let you know if it work.

One other question. I don't have my stuff in SLI yet, but do I need SLI ready RAM?

No, not exactly. But if u do, u may get some performance benefits.Just invest atleast in a EPP ready memory kit.SLI ready memory isn't essential & comes at a premium which i don't think justifies its price.

Any good quality ram works just fine, worst case is that you have to set the OC timings yoursely, which you should do anyways for best overall performance. EPP and SLi ready will just give you general OC performance settings which more than likely won't be 100% the best it can do for your rig as every rig performs a bit differently. So if you're really into OC'ing manual settings and testing results in better performance.

Update - The generic memory did not work but the new motherboard did. I didn't get the same mobo, different manufacture. Anyways, I put it all together and booted up on the first try like it should.
