View Full Version : Vista 64 wont install on xfx 680i lt sli
I have just replaced my motherboard with the 680i lt sli, the problem is that if i try to install vista 64 the system hangs on installation process. XP installs fine, Vista installs fine on my old board. There seems to be a problem with this board and vista 64. If i cant find an answer its going back. Thanks for any advice.

you shouldn't have any troubles with x64 vista and a 680i lt board. you are shure this a working copy of x64? also what are the specs. on your system i found x64 vista to hang somewhat on install in a couple of my older machines. in my celeron D 2.4ghx OCed to 2.8 with 1 gig of DDR 400 and radeon 9700 it hung for a long time when booting from the CD and that was only x32.

Hmmm....I don't quite know on this one....Is your machine overclocked any? Can you memtest your ram? I know that Vista is more sensitive then XP with a bad spot of ram.
I know that i had to give my cpu .25 more volts for Vista to not lock up at random.
Thanks for all the replies, found out it was a bad ide controller and dvd rom was having problems with it. Replaced to the board and all running good now. Cheers.

I'm glad to hear that everything is working for you now, as I was pretty sure it wasn't a mobo problem not supporting Vista.
