WOW!!! You must see this one.

The guys at www.xtremesystems.org (http://www.xtremesystems.org) (actually Andre Yang and Oskar Wu) made some tests of overclocking on the new DFI Lan Party P35.

They tried to reach the maximum FSB and claimed that they reached a new World Record!!! :jawdrop:

I'm not sure whether they really set a new World Record or not, but the results they got were really impressive!!! :jawdrop:

Just for yourself :icon_tiphat::

The DFI P35 is quite impressive but I wouldn't buy it due to the high price of the board.

Can you say hand picked components all around..........;0

Oskar is still the man, he can clock anything to the moon if asked to.

Lan Party boards are pretty easy to get, and you can also go to DFI website to find your local retailer or an online store than will have it in stock.

But if you're talking specifically on the the LP P35, than I personally wouldn't buy it, only for the reason it's just too expensive :frown:, like werty said...:icon_tiphat:

Yeah, he's surely THE MAN!!! He's just an EXPERT when it comes to overclocking!

Thats good ol DFI for ya. Putting out the best of the best. I still personaly think the SLI-DR was the best board they ever released.

Yeah, I agree with you. Their SLI-DR was one their best motherboards, though I really liked their "not-so-old" DFI LANParty UT NF680i LT!!!
I'm not sure whether it is such a GREAT overclocker (the NF680i), but I find its design very appealing...

Come on, are you seirous? You didn't know they have their own 680i??? :jawdrop::lol:

Don't forget it's the LT version, but still, this should be a GREAT 680i mobo, and if I'm not wrong Newegg have it right now in stock for $279.99 (I know it isn't that cheap, that's why I eventually ended up buying the much cheaper Asus P5N-E SLI 650i...:frown:).

DFI boards have gottem very expensive.............I guess DFI needs to pay off the loan they took out when they hired Oskar Wu out from under Abit.

And DFI boards have always been exspensive since the nF3 days. THey are just high priced when that particular chipset is the one to be had.

I used to be a "dedicated" AMD user also, for at least 5 years, till the C2D CPUs came out along with the new 650i/680i mobos, and that's when I decided to leave AMD and start using an Intel CPU...

I still am. I dont see the reason to jump on the Intel bandwagon and change over your whole machine (when i say change i mean drivers and all) becasue of one cpu hits it big. Ill just stick with the AMD cause its not worth switching everything over for like 5fps more in a game. So AMD Fanboy i am!

There's a point in what you're saying, but with the new Intel technology and new quad-core CPUs, all I'll have to do in the future, is just replace the CPU itself. And if the CPU socket will change, anyhow I'll have to replace both the CPU and mobo (and mayb e memory as well), so I can always switch back to AMD, if I really want/have to...;-)

Anyway, this is my peronsal point of view...:icon_tiphat:

Exactly, so why change your Windows instalation over to Intel as well for a few frames difference in games? I bet you in games you wouldnt notice the difference between my X2 and DDR against your DDR2 and C2D. Also, with AM2+ and Barcelona/Phenom on the way there was really no point in upgrading from 939 to C2D. To me, a waste. Im doing completely fine in every game i own and i dont have a G80 card either ;)
Personaly, i think everybody going C2D was just everybody jumping on the "I need to have the latest out there" bandwagon.
Sorta like the 8800s. There was no reason really to get them except have the first DX10 card out there. When the DX10 games hit the shelves the 9800GTX will be right around the corner. Soo me keeping my 939 system, and 7950GT was a smart idea. Cause When i get my 9800GTX for DX10 games my AM3 system and PhenomX4 will be right there with it almost.

First of all, THERE WILL BE a difference, of course, not that huge difference, but I'm pretty sure there will a small difference. ;-)

And beside that, you already gave the answer:

I guess you're right. But I'm one of those who like the have the latest hardware, I could afford it and don't regret it.

(anyway, gotta go now...I've got a plane to catch...)

PP, I had a socket S939 so are saying I am stupid for upgrading to a Core2Duo? I guess I should point out that I was using a 3000+ before I upgraded. Saying a user is stupid for upgrading from a S939 to a Core2Duo is a broad statement since the S939 lineup included both single and dualcore CPUs.

Maybe changing your wording to something like this would be more precise: "changing from any dualcore to a Core2Duo is stupid".

Its not about being smart, its more of what a person wants no matter if you think its a stupid idea.

Lol i upgraded from a 2.5ghz celeron, and c2d seemed like a pretty good processor at the time, and combined with a recommendation from a friend i went for it. In hind sight I could have gone for n X2 based system for about half the price and gotten nearly the same performance, but I'm still happy
