Hi All,
I see this isn't an uncommon problem.
The Rig I was building:
XFX 68-i LT
QX6700
BFG 8800 GTX
4x 1gb OCZ 1066 RAM
Enermax 720w PSU
WD Raptor 150gb
IDE Lite-On DVD RW
Anyway, built it, checked it over - all looked fine. Plugged the power in, got a blue light on the mobo, powered it on at the case, got a green and orange light on the mobo, fans kicked in... but nothing appeared on the screen, no error message, no nothing.
Can we assume this is the standard dead mobo issue?
Is there a dodge batch out there or somthing and is it something that could be chased through the serial number?
Any ideas?
Cheers - Slack

Well, I stuck a regular PCI video card in, same deal.
I tried to reset the cmos, I disconnected and reconnected everything, ran a really basic system on only 1 stick of rem etc.. all the usual. Same deal.

Do you hear any beeps?
Check and make sure your monitor is turned on and that it is connected to your video card. Yeah I know, I know but sometimes people can forget the little things.

There are no beeps, no error lites on the LT boards............;)

But wouldn't there be POST beeps if it was connected to a case speaker? Unless of course his case doesn't have a speaker.

If I remember correctly there isn't even a case speaker header on the board.................;) As strange as that sounds.

There are a number of threads on this exact issue - seems people liked TigerDirect's XFX 680i LT w/ the Q6600 quad CPU deal - I sure did. And I've got the exact same problem.
Blue light on mobo gets joined by orange and green lights upon power up. All fans, including chipset, CPU and video card fans all start up. But no beep codes or anything. Everything appears seated properly. grrrr.
Thoughts?
Setup:
XFX 680i LT mobo
Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad
2GB OCZ Platinum XTC Rev 2 (2 x 1024)
eVGA 8800 GTS 640MB
620W Corsair HX modular PSU

from what you have descrided there is nothing wrong with your MOBO. you need to try a diff. PCI-E video card and make sure it is in the first slot. you would not get video to a PCI video card on post. until you set it in the bios to do this. the light combination you describe is the same i get when i boot up blue joined by orange and green and my board good.

The Green, Blue and Yellow lights are all normal on that mobo. When the fans spin but there is no boot there could be multiple reasons besides the mobo, but that is what people to tend to blame the most right off the bat. It can however be an issue with the motherboard and if you live in the US or Canada I can see about having an RMA issued so it can be brought in house for testing. Create a support ticket at www.xfxforce.com and let me know.

thx tyle
i do have my current 8800 gts in the first pci-e slot, with the pci-e power connected securely...
i'll try to get my hands on another pci-e card - that said though, why would it post with a different pci-e card? there's no onboard video - so where else would it post other than the pci-e card? is your suggestion simply to eliminate the 8800 as the culprit?

Hey Tyle - your advice was totally sound... installed an ATI PCI card (not PCI-e incidentally) and the system posted perfectly! I'll now take a look at the settings and see if it's my eVGA 8800 or not.
Thanks to all.

My final post on this topic:
After booting once with the ATI PCI video card and reinstalling the eVGA card, the system boots perfectly and quickly. Joy!
So that said, my suggestion to anyone experiencing the same issue, do try installing another video card temporarily and perhaps you'll have the same luck I did.

no problem, always here to help. hope you stick around and share what you learn with the crowd. glad to hear you didn't have to RMA the board.
P.S. double posting will get you hounded. always try editing. no one likes a double poster, might aswell be spamming.

I had this some issue on the eVGA 680i LT, I spent all day trying to get it working and by complete fluke it posted, worked for a week or so and then died in the night with the same problem but couldn't bring it back to life.
RMA'd it to www.ebuyer.co.uk and they said both my Point of View 8800 GTS 640mb and the 680i LT were faulty, going to get an XFX 680I lt this time instead.

As surprising as it is my RMA'd board is having the same problem, even with an RMA'd 8800 GTS and it being built outside the case. Waiting for a PCI graphics card to arrive off a friend.
