What kind of noise? A humming, a crackling? Helps to know so can narrow it down to power cord issues etc

Try lowering the volume from the speaker's volume control & increase the volume from within the Windows volume control & if there's a 3D Depth option in your windows volume control, try keeping that Muted. Also make sure that there's no electrical equipment & power outlet near the speakers.

the first thing i would do is un hook the speakers completly and re install them using a new patch cord from the computer. i have seen the cords get pushed into walls and the wires inside damaged not a visible sign on them but broken under the plastic coating. anyways replace the patch cord to the speakers and set all levels to 3/4 of max. physical speakers volume, control in system tray, and if you have an audio control panel in your system control panel there aswell. aswell what audiocard are you using is it onboard? aadd-on PCI? what drivers are you using for this sound card.
