Hey guys and gals

I am hoping someone could help me out here. My XFX 650i Ultra suffers from some pretty bad vdroop. At 1.5v in the BIOS on my CPU it comes up as 1.465 at idle in XP and hits 1.42 at load.

I have seen the pencil mods for various boards but none referring to the XFX 650i Ultra board. Maybe XFXSupport can help out here I dunno. If anyone knows what chip to use to lessen the vdroop it would be MUCH appreciated! thanks.

why does it matter? its only the readings that are off just like the 12volt rails in speedfan or other programs, its not 100% accurate. unless i am completely wrong, i dont think it matters since its just a software reading

Unfortunately it isn't just a software reading. It is an actual decline in voltage being supplied to the CPU.

The big problem is that in my case I have to provide 1.5v to the CPU to reach a certain speed because once I load up the CPU and the voltage drops things crash.

By fixing vdroop you can supply less (more-steady) voltage to the CPU and it will perform rock solid. i.e. 1.45v to achieve the same level of performance.

That's about the standard droop range (0.025 - 0.030v) I've been seening around the net for nvidia based boards, bot of mine fall within that range as well, give or take a little............;) I'm not all that worried about it as my OC is nice and stable and temps are cool..........:)

I wouldn't worry about the droop your getting either but it doesn't hurt to get it even closer to what it should be.
