Well since I been talking about my computer for a while and never actually showed pics to anyone I thought i would make a thread out of it.
Of course the PC is not closed since i'm thinking about geting a new case.
The Tagan A+ Black Pearl or maybe the Lian-Li V2000
So I could fit the Mach II GT inside one case with the rest of the PC making it easier to carry around.

nice rig there! shes a monster thats for sure. i bet she would look real nice and tidy inside the black pearl. is the mach II going to fit in there with everything?

Schwarz
07-31-2007, 08:41 PM
I'm not sure about that tyle...
If not then I know if I took out the Mach II GT from its casing and fitted everything myself then it would fit.
I would then have to find a place for the HDDs which I will probably put in one or 2 of the 5.25" enclosures.
And then I'm not sure everything will fit with the PSU down there.
But i'll manage to find a way.

tyle6
07-31-2007, 08:48 PM
thats actuualy what i assumed. that you'ld remove it from its houseing and stick it where the HDDS should be. looks like it would be a wicked setup.

If you guys look at the last pic on the first page you can notice my teddy bear.
I had it since I was born.
If you want me to take a pic of him let me know...I know it seems childish for a guy my age but I've done so many things with this guy.
When I was in Reno I used to steal coins out of claw machine and hide them in my teddy bear so my parents wouldn't know.
Then when we went to Circus Circus I would empty it hide the quarters in my pockets then they would leave us money to play the little games but I had so much more money then they though.
Anyways just a little part of my life.

LOL my only teddy bear is in a photo i took aswell. he is laying on the floor sprawled out with a 10 inch butcher knife laying beside him. Shot in black in white. i will scan my art later and show you. blows peoples minds when they walk in the room and see a black and white of a suicidal teddy bear.

Yah its expensive.
Thats why i'm probably not gonna get it soon.
But i'm tired of not being able to take my computer out of the house to some friend's.
It would be nice to have my MIIGT and everything in ONE case so I could just take it easily out to wherever

Wow your rig is freakin nice! Huge, but nice. It looks like you did some custom mods to your case too. Just wondering, how much would a rig like yours cost? Thinking of building something unique and probably watercooled.

ive seen some carrying straps on the net. some of them look decent nylon strapping all around the case with a nice handle to hold onto. no bag to block any vents or anything so she can be left on for as long as your out. damn, cant remeber where i saw it i will post a link i can find it, was looking at one for myself to truck my case to a friends house.

I was thinking about getting a case strap a while back. Was looking at this one made by Thermaltake:
http://www.xoxide.com/thxaiiibtoxa.html

Maybe you can do a little modding? Though it might ruin the look of the case. But you can maybe add handles to the top and casters/wheels. Here's what I was thinking:

As far as the rig I have I guess in pricing er...

The case itself 200
motherboard 400
videocards I won but let's say 300 x 2
soundcard 400
ram 175
procy 150
mach II GT 900
and the mushkin PSU 200 (i dunno i won that one too...)

around 3000.
But those are all aprox. prices and in canadian money.
A water cooling rig won't cost you 900 I don't think.
Bio could help you more on that though.

As far as straps I didn't think of that but its a great idea.
I'll check them out.
But I really need to get one of the blacdk pearl cases before hand...

He really has a strap??
Well thats good to know thanks Jules.
I would need it if I got the other case though.
I'm not sure how it would carry to pieces together.
Well i'm still going to check it out.

Thanks for the rough estimate.

Actually The more that I think about it I'm starting to change my mind. Where I live my computer tends to stay cool most of the year so water cooling would probably be a little overkill. Before I got my 8800 my cpu used to idle around 19c on STOCK air cooling. Now it idles around 23-24c which isnt so bad. If I get a decent aftermarket cpu cooler I could probably push it back down to where it was.

Thanks again.

Good air cooling is good enough for most folks if you really think about it..........;) Water cooling really only helps with "HIGH" OC's (gives you a bit more head room keeping the delt beteen idle and load temps smaller) and keeps the noise levels down. As for temps, idle temps don't really play a role in anything, load temps is what matters. When talking any of your temps, use a program like CoreTemp that gives you the actual temp inside the core it's self. Generally programs that ship with motherboards aren't even close to what the core is really doing inside.......;) 19c on air would mean that you would have to have a room temp of far less than 19c, like 15c or less............;) In all my years I haven't seen a air cooler that can bring a OC'd CPU down to room temp, you can get fairy close with some extreme fans, but room temp +1 or 2c is about as far as it will go. Now if you under clock and under volt you can get to room temp without a problem.

Actually those temps I gave you were from coretemp. My room stays fairly cool and the gpu I was running at the time (ATI X1300 pro) didnt produce nearly as much heat as my 8800. Keep in mind I have an NZXT Zero case. I have 4 120mm fans blowing air directly onto my mobo and two 120mm exhuasting air out the back. I also have 2 80mm fan one on the bottom one on the top of my case exhausting air out. I also have another 120mm cooling off my drive bay. So thats 9 fans all together.

I dont remember the exact room temp but my room was probably around 68-70F.

My system specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ ( at that time not oc'd)
WD Caviar 250GB HDD
2GB Ram
At that time an ATI X1300 pro (Now EVGA 8800GTS 320MB)
Antec Truepower Trio 550W PSU
NZXT Zero case

AMD, that explains things a little, they tend to run much cooler and at stock settings even more so.......;)

These new 1333 G0 stepping Intel C2D's are getting much more inline with lower temps these days, even OC'd from 2.6 to 3.6 I can run rith at room temp and in the low 40c range max load at a room temp of 22-24c..............;)

Nothing like the temps that you can get with a good Phase change cooler though, but the CPU part of my water cooling only runs around 250-300 depending on the type of radiator you buy.

I would still have taken the strap but thats because I might need it.
But besides that one thing i can tell you guys is that I actually got my PD805 running at 70c back in the days when oced on fullload.
Between 65 and 70 anyways so the temps you are talking about shouldn't even be considered lol.

sushrukh
08-09-2007, 10:19 PM
Though Router firewalls are good at their task but you can't rely on them completely.Either you'll need the Antivirus firewall ( I use Kaspersky Internet Security for software firewall) or the windows firewall. If you, would like to use your router's firewall, then you should manually set the firewall for all TCP/UDP ports & you should also disable the Port Forwarding from the Router's firewall.Otherwise if you use P2P softwares, you are bound to get some unwanted guests too in your machine. And don't forget to disable the windows firewall if you r using any other software firewall. It creates packet collision problems if you enable two software firewalls at a same time.

Schwarz
08-10-2007, 02:47 AM
Anyway you want it a firewall scans what comes in and out so its bound to slow you down somewhere.
