Hey guyz, I was just wondering, what you guys think I should be able to get outta my new Q6600, oc wise, I don't want to push it until I know from fellow overclockers what they can get, etc. etc. I am currently running it at just 3.0ghz, I have Mushkin DDR2 1066, Watercooling etc. Just want to know what a "safe" voltage for the cpu,mem all that stuff etc.

This is what Nvidia recomends for max voltages, but keep in mind overall temps...........;)
I'd stick pretty close to these even with a Intel chipset.

q CPU Core: 1.58750v

q CPU FSB: 1.5v

q Memory: 2.3v
q nForce SPP: 1.50v

What stepping did you get? G0 or the B version?

Will you be water cooling or air?

Remember dual cores get hot when overlcocked, you now have 4 cores that don't play well with each other when getting hot.

Ya gotta' beat the heat to max your OC.

Best case scenario:
You have a G0 stepping
You have a radiator modified Nautilus 500 (I'm looking at you BIO )
You live in a cool climate

Expect to hit 3.4 GHz ish for average. 4.0 GHz is RAREE

Water, and how do I check which stepping? I am in Canada(colder then like Arizona), I am 17 so living in my parents basement is fine, and its like 18 degrees Celsius year round down here, plus water cooling

CPUz willl give you the stepping of the core.

It says Stepping is 7? do you mean revision, cuz I have revision B3

The B3 is what we're looking for, that's the older stepping/revision.

That not good for overclocking? or good for overclocking?

From what I've beed seeing, they OC to about the same levels, give or take a little, and depending on how lucky you are when you got the chip. It's just that the newer G0 stepping will require a bit less voltage to reach the same level and they also tend to run cooler overall.

Meh temp isn't as big an issue to me, if thats the main issue, so what kind of voltages, should I be lookin for on a 3.2-3.4 OC, even though 2.3 is reccomended max for mem, I am assuming that 2.35v is fine, as that is the voltages that the mem can run at according to Mushkin site

That completly depends on your chip, they are all somewhat different. You might want to check a few of the OC data bases at the larger forums to see what the average OC to voltages are for your core. The [H] and XS are both fairly up to date I think.
