Hello everyone :smile:

I know that Samsung RAM has a brilliant reputation for being overclockable, but I find that my Hynix RAM on my EVGA 7900gs overclocked very well also.

Of you hard-core overclockers out there, which would you prefer? Is there another brand that you would rather use/abuse than these two?

hynix in my experiences seem to fair better then samsung in overclocking and bandwidth . infineon memory is good as well . if it was up to me and i could actually choose between the three i pick Hynix .

WHat you guys didn't even mention MICRON chips.
All their high end chips are always picked as best over clockers all over the net.
Thats what they use in the Crucial Ballistix Tracer...though we all know Crucial is owned by Micron.
But many high end memory use MICRON chips.

He's talking about the Video ram or graphics memory Schwarz.I don't know if Micron has ever made memory chips for graphics cards too.

Well at least I know what to look out for for system RAM now too :)

Also, can anyone give tips on how to find out what RAM is on what boards and finding the spec sheets for them? When I'm shopping I take every detail into account ;-)

that wouldnt be easy . mainly because vid manus will start off with one type ie. samsung and in a revision they'll switch to infineon or hynix .. only thing you can really do is compare from reviews and users ..

You could also contact the tech department of the manufacturer of the video card and ask them. BTW, some confusion might be avoided if you refer to it as "VRAM" on VGA cards rather than RAM on boards.;-)
