I think it's a socket 423/478 CPU.
Does the CPU look like this ?

You can also show us what's written on the CPU heat spreader.

If windows is installed, run cpu-z on it. It will give you all the details.
Otherwise take the side cover off and look for the motherboard brand and model number.

i would take a picture if i had a camera but a friend gave me this processor no heatsink, just the processor and the writing on the core is unreadable and i got no other motherboard than the one in my computer which is lga775 and it wont fit that but ill look into the 478 and try to find a picture of one to see if it is

Wish I could get all of that series. I wanted to rent BoB one disc at a time at my local Blockbuster but they were out of one of the episodes so I passed. :frown: Some game mods I've played have the sounds from it, quite an awesome show for TV.
Oh and btw, I was guessing 478, but mentioned it too late to get in the betting pool! LOL
I happen to have a P4 3.0 GB Northwood chip which was getting rare to find when I built up my rig. Runs a lot cooler and more stable than the Prescotts that replaced it but I often wish now I had a Core 2 Duo.
