I have some XFX cards, now! I now have in my inventory 5, count 'em, 5 XFX PCIe videocards! :):):)
3 - 7600GS
2 - 6800GS
All of them new or like new with the boxes and all!
No, I am not selling. I am building up my inventory and am proud to finally be an owner of some XFX cards. That's all I'm doing, I wasn't trying to sell a PD 840 and I am not trying to sell these videocards. Capisce?

I will. :) In about 5 years...lol
EDIT - Oh, and BTW, I know where Microsoft came up with the name for their gaming console. They got it from XFX packaging. When they first started developing the original XBOX, there was probably some people sitting around a table perusing through the latest computer technology and came upon a picture of an XFX videocard package and probably mentioned something like, "Hmmm, an X shaped box". Someone else paying attention probably said jokingly, "X-box, we aught'a present that to Billy as the project designation for his new baby". And as a joke, the company decided to keep the designation as the retail name.

So, XFX should deserve a huge amount of royalties from Microsoft.

All in due time, all in due time. I'll likely build custom computers with these and the other cards and supplies I have and start selling with or without an OS. I prefer to sell without an OS because WindowsXP is so expensive.
Anyone care to see my current two custom PCs?

Sure post some pics (attachments please) and for custom rigs for nowadays i hope your not charging much. Those cards are kinda outdated.

Nah, I won't build a custom around that kind of hardware. I'll get an order and then spend the money on what they want...up to a point, if I have the money. This moderate stuff will be for people that aren't enthusiasts, that just want a moderate PC to do a little gaming and media type work as well as accounting type work.

I did very little modding but it still looks sweet. I took out almost the whole front, lower portion and put in two 140s

The second comp looks sweet too.
Is that an HIS card? Im guessing from the heatsink structure. Also, why do you have the extra USB ports on the bottom? I didnt think anybody used those anymore. Mod them in the front if you can. Thats what i did.

Nope, not USB ports. It's a wireless LAN card. In one of the pics you can see the antenna wire coming from the top.
EDIT - Oh, no, wait, that's MSI's utility device. It does have some USB ports but it has 4 LEDs that are signals to conditions and such.

LOL...hehe, why's that? XP Home is the most trouble free OS I've used...which isn't many, BTW. I've dabbled a little in Linux and like it but it wears me out trying to configure and remember where stuff is. XP Home is actually the only OS I've ever used except for the pre-release demo of Vista. With all of the troubles people are reporting about Vista wwith it's heavy power requirementsd and such, I'll wait another year for them to iron out the bugs.

Not just AMD...I'm bi-processor! Hehe...I have an E4400 Based rig and the first system I built was around an Asus P5ND2-SLI board and P4 630 CPU.
My E4400 rig was supposed to be a cream-of-the-crop system when I ordered the P5N-E SLI board. I ordered that board specifically to use a C2D CPU with and what would ya know when I got it together and tried turning it on? It wouldn't even POST. I put a P4 in it and it ran great. It would not work with any C2D CPU in it. It would work with P4 and PD but not with C2D. After a long time using it...I wore myself out trying to get it to work with my E4400 that I lost all interest in it and decided the board and manufacturer was crap.
But after a while I decided to send to Asus for replacement and the replacement worked just fine with my E4400. I am still not please with what I consider one of the cheapest boards I've ever bought. I cannot get it to OC higher than 2.8GHz and people in other forums are reporting getting their E4400/P5N-E rigs up to 3.4 to 3.5GHz.
Since then I've sworn off Asus and won't even consider something given to me free with the Asus brand. I sound like I'm angry now but I'm not compared to what I was then.

I'm not going to sell the MSI/ATi rig but any of the others I might...on eBay or whatever. I haven't even figured up how much i have in them yet.
I do have my original P5ND2-SLI rig for sale. I'll get the specs on it later and post them.
Mainly, though, the reason I have these is because this is actually my hobby. I love building thse things and tinkering with mild creativity every now and then. I love technology. I would be right at home in Star Trek, Star Wars or any other sci-fi type world.
The Dragon, I'll sell. Don't need to wipe the drives because I haven't installed an OS, yet.
The E4400 based rig I'll sell but I have to wipe the drive.
The future Dark Knight will be sucking blood at a local auction.
The P5ND2 rig is up for grabs after wiping the drive. Heck, I'll sell it all. So keep watch on eBay under the name lewislink-store.

I thought I might make note, the aluminum cover...circled in red and with a red X on it...is actually a very thin piece of aluminum. I found some signs at a local hardware store...because that was the only sheet aluminum I could find...that have words on one side and, of course, are nice and clean brushed aluminum appearance on the other side, and I cut it to what you see. It's about the same thickness as that brushed aluminum 5.25 in. drive bay cover on an Ultra Aluminus.
Nevertheless, it's only purpose, besides, looking nice, is to cover the HDD rack.
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x51/lewislink2/XGDragon078-1.jpg
This part, in the image in this link with the red X, is actually an extruded aluminum door sill molding that I chopped to fit as a guard for the video card. The molding had several mounting holes on that one side, which is the upper side in this image, and the right most screw hole in this image lined up perfectly with the hole in the card. All I had to do was chamfer both upper holes, put a dummy screw in the left upper hole...because there was nothing to mount with it... and make the side hole at the slot mount. I made an extra large hole so I could use a rubber grommet.
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x51/lewislink2/XGDragon061-1.jpg
This is actually how it is mounted:

Well i meant just the "Home" part of XP. By no means do i reccomend Vista i was just saying i would rather prefer Professional instead. When i think of XP Home i think of my grandparents computer. When i think of a high powerd gaming rig i think of Pro. Idk, call me wierd.
lewislink
09-14-2007, 05:09 PM
No, no, not weird at all, Pro is supposed to be a better running version....better running as in more power. My biggest problem with Pro is the cost. An OEM copy is still up at $140.
I'm probably going to have a tough enough time selling my computers for a little more than I have in them. Adding to that cost with things like Pro I don't believe is necessary right now till I get established and people feel like my computers are worth it. For myself, the cost factor is the same, I don't want to spend that extra money when I'm currently happy with what I'm using. However, if I find a copy of Pro at a very reasonable price, I might just try it. :)
