Looked around the forums and didn't see this posted yet. I hope I didn't miss the thread if it has already been created...
Anyways, the article is VERY short... and so is the article that is linked in the above article.
I think there were some old threads discussing what G92 might be. This news might be a disappointment to some, if not many.

I think Acid posted something on this a while back........;) It still should perform fairly well with a 256 buss and 512 ram. Just have to wait and see as they say.
Hmm.... I wonder how it would compare to an 8800GTS. The name implies that it is not as powerful. :-?

The 8800GTS probably out performs it by a bit.

That article does make the G92 seem more powerful than the G80 lol. It's so confusing.

I know how you feal westy. That's how I would feel too. But they should be comming out with something new since their new nForce 7 motherboard is going to support a newer version of PCI-E for the new video cards.

So a 9800gtx should still be in the works but wont be G92 you think?

I don't know what to believe.
I have heard that Nvidia has been putting out misinformation, don't know which to believe.

IF all this is true.... According to the link to their older article, it is supposed to replace the "8800GTS series".

I think they're confusing the G92 architecture with an upcoming midrange G80 release, and fudging the whole thing for traffic and advertising money, just like the 'bioshock rootkit oshi-' article.
Hypish noobs. Ignore them.

Ye I'll just wait till something is actually released. I read somewhere that G98 was actually going to be the 8700 and G92 the 9800. Anyone else remember that?

You all know that a new top card is in the works, what it is and what it'll be called still remaind to be seen. All these little leaks are just a ploy to keep it hidden from public eye for as long as possible..................;)

I am not sure. But that would not make sense because why would they call it the G92 then?

Have you ever thought about the idea of a GPU that hasn't been leaked to the press yet, now that's a novel idea.

Exactly! It makes sense that Nvidia will plug the gaping hole between the 8600 and 8800 series with a decent 256bit capable card, they always do eventually. ATI is doing the same with their cards.
It is a given that at least two cards are being launched this November, it is that time of year again for them to launch a new high-end series. Whatever it's real name or codename will be is just the details.

The funny thing is Softpedia is saying the exact opposite with a bigger article to try and back it up. Seriously, another 8800GTS dosent make much sense. Considering it seems the 8600s arent doing to bad. ATI is trying to cover up their lame mistakes with a dual gpu 2600XT . Like i said before, it dosent make ANY sense at all to make an 8000 series GPU with a code name of a higher series. G60 was 6000, G70 was 7000, G80 8000. You catch my drift.
I say, just let the few months remaining roll and try not to get your panties in a wad over stupid rumours. If your game to marketing then your just falling in their trap.

So they say, at least Sundays are the normal day......;) But the IDF begins tomorrow so maybe everything will be shown tomorrow. AMD/ATi also has something to say early this week as well, I think I read it was to be released tomorrow.

I now kinda started to believe that the G92 will be something in between the 8800 & 8600 & only the 8700 falls in that.

Now, these 2 sites called the VR-Zone & the Ocworkbench have pretty good connections & their news most of the times comes true. The G92 & G98 both are being said to be released in November according to Ocworkbench.
Anyways, we'll have to wait.
