If I buy a Cooler Master Stacker to use for my BTX motherboard, would this thermal kit be necessary?

If its the tube thing that goes across the ram and cpu then kinda. Thats the whole point of BTX. The seperate your cpu and ram cooling from video cards and HDs.

Actually, I already have the BTX kit for an Armor. I can go either way but I think the CMS will be cheaper, $140 vs. $200

I got a free BTX upgrade kit with my Kandalf case. I doubt I'll ever use it though.

It's the same one as the Armor case. My kit will fit either one.

The whole point is, the seperate cooling of the CPU and RAM is the point of BTX. Its pointless to have an upside down motherboard without the goofy cooling.

And also pointless to have a BTX board without the proprietary heatsink/fan. The board may support a normal Intel CPU but it doesn't support a normal HS/fan. However, I got an excellent deal on this board and now all I need is the case. It'll work fine with my 840EE :)
