I have recently installed this motherboard, everything's been great so far, however i noticed that my Seagate drive is only being identified as 'Serial ATA Generation 1'.
I installed Windows XP SP2, and then installed the latest nForce drivers (8.44). Any ideas?
Thank you

If it is a Seagate 7200.10 series drive make sure you removed the jumper on the drive. The come set to default to Sata 1.

Spot on Scott, thank you very much. I didn't even notice the jumper on the HDD!

Aww ya beat meh.
Yeah, I didn't have an inkling about the jumpers until I read Scott's review of the 7200.10 drives. Pulled them out of my striped array and went from 130mb/s to about 200mb/s.

Some drives don't come with a jumper. Mine didn't but mine are also only sata 150 (in raid0):)

I don;t see any jumper also on mines. But they are SATAII hard drive, and running as a SATA drives 134MB in RAID0.
How can i change that.

OK, im not sure about this i have a similiar issue though. im not sure what the standard for sataII is, but im stuck UDMA mode 6. seeing as im not raided nor do i have a raptor. my hardware is the limit not the interface anyways. anyone spread a lil light on what the sataII standard is? mode7? i know NCQ is only supported on sataII so is being stuck in UDMA mode 6 affecting NCQ? not that it would matter on my desktop anyways.
