OK, so i have 2 DSL modems, 2phonlines and a want for 2 connections. does anyone out there know if i will be able to connect to the internet with both modems using my one single username and password on each? both on seperate phone lines? or if i even need to bother with the second phoneline and tossing all the filters on it too?
Basically, anyone out there know much about sympaticos highspeed?
Also what about registering 2 IP's threw one cable modem on a rogers cable connection?

I know you can illegaly do a multiple modem setup with cable but idk how its done. I know somebody who had a quad modem Comcast cable setup getting about 120mb down. Youd figure the ISP would notice that right?

LOL damn!! yea you really would. i am just trying to get this to work for gaming. behind the NAT my comps all seem to be the same. can not log in from the same IP onto the same server. and two of us want to play in the same server in the same room. :frown: i dont wanna pay another 40 bucks a month for that LOL. i dont plan on abusing my internet connection, bell treats me to well out here in the sticks with a 7mb/s connect.
basically i just want to grab 2 IPs to game with. not looking for more speed. i wouldn't mind a bit more upload speed. but i dont plan on bridging them or anything.
the 7mb/s is more then most servers would dream of feeding me anyways.

I don't have a problem with multiple computers and gaming online behind a NAT. Are you using a router along with your modem? I know my friend's modem is also a router and he has no problems when we all hop online for a frag.

Maybe you can try going through a proxy although idk how you would go about that.

no no, its a certain game... it only allows the IP on the server once. i have no problems in any games other then this single one. dont worry;-)

There are routers made that handle 2 connection to the internet. They can either be 2 dsl, 2 cable, 1 dsl and 1 cable.

They are mainly sold to companys that must always have internet so they usualyy have 2 different service providers in case one goes down.

Try searching for that.

If your motherboard has 2 ethernet connections just plug each cable modem into the mobo then under internet connection you can "bridge" the connections.

I have never done this personally but it is the most straight forward approach before buying any new equipment.
