New Deals Forum.

I have a partnership with a place that has some pretty good deals on stuff. So we have oepen a forum listing the deals and you can go look and see if you are interested.

Anything you buy we gut a small cut of and helps support the site. I hope you enjoy the deals forum.

Any comments about it can be made in this thread.

Just something that is annoying. The links should go directly to the items not to another page where you have to click yet another link to finally get to the item. I'm not sure if thats possible though.

I like it, but I don't like the fact that it is kind of like spam. The one with the free credit and all that. I don't find that really appropriate for the forums. I would say that deals for products would be nice like hardware.

It is a feed coming in so we can't really pull stuff out of it. I could moderate some but we just started it today so lets see how it goes.

As Scott said, we are testing this a bit. I'm a bit annoyed on some of the stuff in the feed and am looking into how making that better. The feed was accidentally set to update every 30 minutes though while my plan was to have it update every 12 hours but I changed that.

There are some ways to moderate the feed (but that takes time) and/or pick out feed items depending on if it includes certain keywords but we have to play around with that some more.

But if I feel it doesn't work we will remove it. The last thing I want is to annoy people. You can always get to the deals through the "Great Deals" link in the menu.

I don`t mind them at all.
Some I do but its alright.
The only thing is that it would be nice to be able to respond or reply in the threads...
