Hey guys, does anyone know if the 650i board has SMART support? I cannot any SMART enabling option in the BIOS and all my diagnostic programs claim that SMART is disabled.

humm, you should have smart support on that board. what about your HDD? Try HD tune. you can use everest ultimate to see what your HDD is supporting aswell.

Thanks for the reply! I'm absolutely sure both my hard drives (Samsung SpinPoint + Seagate 7200.10) have SMART support because it was enabled on my old motherboard. Do you know where I can access the SMART options in the BIOS? Is there some secret keys that I have to press to bring up the menu?

Ok I did get a response: "The SMART settings seen in some BIOS are there for enable/disable purposes only. SMART is in fact run by the OS and the driver. Our BIOS has SMART enabled at all times, the actual reporting is handled by our driver."
So In a nut shell its always enabled in our motherboards and I was also informed currently we have not heard of any compatibality issues with our motherboards and SMART. If you feel that perhaps your mobo is having issues with it please start a support ticket at www.xfxforce.com and let me know the ticket number. Hope this helps a bit.
