well, i'm planning on getting a 7600GT AGP (don't have PCIe) and i really don't wanna kill it by not feeding it with enough power, so...
does an Ultra X-Finity 500-Watt ATX can handle this card?
it has dual 12v rail (16A & 18A)
my system:
Pentium 4 HT 3.0Ghz
2x512Mb 800Mhz Dual-Channel RAM
250Gb SATA HDD
DVD-ROM (very old) and a DVD burner
i'm planning to get that PSU because i thought it's powerful enough and it's not expensive ($60 w/o MIR), but it may not be as good as i think, so... can anyone help me out by telling me if i should get that PSU or by recommending me a good ($75 or less if possible) one?
thanks for your attention

Just make sure the 18amp is going to the graphic and you will be fine.

one more question... how could i know what rail is the one with 18A to use it with the card?

You should be just fine with that PSU, along as you plan to keep the current setup (with the 7600GT).
I'm not sure if it'll be enough for "stronger"/more-demanding Video Cards...:???:
one more question... how could i know what rail is the one with 18A to use it with the card?
Maybe they're marked (the cables of the 12V rails) as +12V1 and +12V2, by any chance? Maybe you can check in the User Manual of the PSU (if you still have it)? OR...you can always try and ask Ultra Customer Suppport how to distinguish between them...;-)
And...you can always try (as last option) both connection and if one of them fails (I mean that the Video Card will fail and/or downclock itself), then you'll know it's the 16A and just switch to the second one that provides 18A.
Hope this helps...:icon_tiphat: GOOD LUCK!

A. AGP slots don't have enough power to run a graphic card, so you need a power cable going to it. B. only PCI-e cards get that new fancy cooler.

ahhhh, alright. i got the old crappy coolers:frown: some of the 7600gt's on AGP don't have the molex connecter nor the 6 pin on the PCIE the 7600 has really low power requirements and heat dissipation:)
