Register for Shuttle’s Case Design Contest and get a chance to bring home a brand new Shuttle XPC computer. Design your own Shuttle G2 case and submit the photos to be eligible to win. Shuttle will provide the G2 case to all participants. Winners will be chosen by the public.
A $10 fee is required to pay for shipping charges. Shipping rate for Canada is not listed so I'm not sure if it's $10 too.

PDF Form: http://us.shuttle.com/CaseDesignContest/Contest%20Form.pdf
1st Place: Shuttle XPC G5 3300 PC + XP17 Portable LCD ($2,000 Retail Value)
2nd Place: Shuttle XPC G2 3000 PC + XPC Carry Bag ($1,500 Retail Value)
3rd Place: Shuttle XPC G2 3000 PC ($1,000 Retail Value)
5 Honorable Mentions: Shuttle XPC SD30G2 Barebone PC ($250 Retail Value)
12 Shuttle’s Choice Awards: Shuttle Backpack ($25 Retail Value)
Edit: I received word from Shuttle that it's only a case cover they're sending out and not an entire G2 case. I suggested they mention that before they get a bunch of nasty emails.
The fee for Canadians is $25.00.
I doubt they'll get many entries after people find out they'll only be getting a case cover to mod and not a whole case as the contest page implies.

So I emailed Shuttle and was told the $10 registration fee is $25 for Canadians :ahhhhh: Plus they're only sending people a case cover and not an entire G2 case as the contest page says.

Hmmmm yeah.... I think I'll use my energy on earning money and buying my own case instead. :)
Besides my own modding skills haven't really increased in the last year. :)

What e-mail did you use? Do they have a special one for this mod contest or is it just their regular tech support?

Thanks!
Hopefully, they can disregard my entry and not charge me $10.
Wish their conetest page had more accurate information...

Well if they send you a case cover then remind them that their contest page states: Shuttle will provide the G2 case to all participants.
Now I don't know what to believe. I just emailed them again and got this reply:
Hi,
Yes, we do accept Canadian register, and we will provide the case as well.
Thank you

Sounds like bait and switch to me possibly. I just dont believe they will provide you with a full case.

Yeah, my money says its just a cover. I can't see them sending a full case for $10 without some sort of waiver or agreement that you come through with a mod. Dunno, but the details leave a lot to be desired.

Entries must include:
5.
Four (4) photos of case (JPG, GIF, or PNG only)
-Front
-Top
-Left
-Right
this is fishy alright; but if I can get a case to mod for 10 bucks, you can bet I'll take the power tools to it.....

Hmmm... interesting contest, but I will have to pass, as I have no experience in modding :? Good luck to those who enter though ;)

They confirmed its just a case cover worth $50, and will be editing the contest page. I guess you could try to sell it afterwards if you wanted.

I knew this was too good to be true.
I should have driven out to Ontario to register in person if they were giving out the entire case for participants. But I didn't because I wasn't sure if I would have to pay to get into the Newegg Lanfest, which would end up costing more than the fax registration.
Hey Slugbug, didn't you make a few posts about this in the Newegg Forums (EggXpert)? Maybe one of them was at the Newegg Lanfest and can tell us what they saw Shuttle handing out to the registrants. Can you ask? Thanks.
EDIT:
Just read this from a site.

They say they are providing case covers in that article.....

I would pass on this just because of the chance of paying any duties but its a neat for a company to plan a contest like this.

you think I'm gonna design this here crazy mod from last year's contest with just a front panel?

They told me the value would be declared low so we Canadians wouldn't have to worry about taxes or brokerage fees. I think $25 for Canadians is a little excessive though.

Will do ;-)

If the value is not $20 or under the chance for being charged duty is more likely.

I just read the Press Release and it reads : Case covers are available at the Shuttle booth at the LANfest event.

haha, so true. Knowing what some modders can do and the fact that it will be voted upon, pretty much puts my chances at 0. The gallery holds some very impressive stuff.
