I believe the FO switch will allow for maximum bandwidth between PC's on the network as well as to the server.

Idk really. Im going to get some SCSI drives, some more PC133 ram, and a second proccy for the G2 of course. THat thing is awesome to me even if it is old. You turn it on and those little fans sound like a 747 taking off!! I think its just amazing i have a REAL server and i have all the books, cables and mounting hardware to go with it.
The Switcher im having a probem with. I have NO idea how to use this thing or rather exactly what it does.

Well...VERY NICE.
You can always use it to do some massive folding for Bjorn3D team. :icon_tiphat: That would be GREAT! ;-)

ACtualy thats exactly what i plan on doing with it. I can run the dual core one to use each CPU right? And i plan on getting the best CPU for that slot as well. My current server actualy cant fold on a 24/7 basis. Were having troubles with it ATM.
I was told its like a regular LAN 10/100 switcher cept just fiber optics and soooo much faster. Like in the 100gb/s range (gigabit). Idk how id even hook that up to computers let alone know where to get cable. Im so un-knowledgable on fiber its unreal.

Sold the switcher for $250. I found out what those things are really used for (as opposed to what i thought) and there is no way i can ever afford to use that thing. Im using the money to invest in my G2 instead.

I think a 9800 would beat my 2 8800GTS 320.
I might try to deal something out to get myself a 9800 when it comes out.

I'm pretty sure we'll see the first one he gets on his mongoose first  and only the 2nd one, we'll get to see it offered in a contest, but I think it's fair enough...;-)
