The graphics dont even look that great...
But then again its a EA game... I shouldnt ask too much.
Just making a decent game seems hard for them nowadays.

Yeah Hellgate is nothing like the trailers cracked it up to be. The RPG elements are a joke and it's purely a low grade bargain bin arcade slasher/shooter with horrible graphics and repetitive map elements.

If you're in the mood for an arcadish slasher/shooter go with Painkiller Overdose instead. The protagonist dialog is a bit annoying and Serious Samish and he doesn't seem to be for good or evil but it's a bit of a hoot anyway.

Despite PO being developed by Mindware vs PCF this time around, I must say they did capture the feeling of PCF's creative level design and twisted monsters. In fact Belial himself is one sick dude.

There will no doubt be a few satirical remarks regarding the meaning of Belial's name ("without worth") concerning how this installment compares to previous ones, but I'm sure loyal Painkiller fans will embrace him if for nothing else his similarity to the infamous PK monsters.

I find it odd however that they chose to use such a character as the protagonist when legends of Belial speak of him reigning over demons rather than destroying them. This may be one thing even die hard fans have trouble accepting.

I already tried it, and i can't decide if i like it or not. It does have somewhat cheap arcadey feel to it. But then Diablo would also feel like an arcade if it was in 3d, not that i'm a fan of it.
Like i said, the demo is just too short for me to really decide. I'll wait for the reviews cause i certainly won't buy it before i know if it's good.

Wow, these early impressions of the demo from you guys have me baffled... I can't believe that this game can be that bad? This coming from essentially the fathers of the Diablo franchise? Say it isn't so... the curse of EA has struck again :(

Looks like MOHAA or MOHPA will remain EA's best games for years to come.I also previously liked another game of EA called " American Mcgee's Alice ".

I've recently purchase MOH: Airborne, but somehow still didn't find the time to install it and start playing. :frown:
I still have the DEMO installed, which I finish and really enjoyed playing. ;-)
Hopefully, this coming weekend, I'll install it and have 2-3 hours of gameplay.

Yeah, that was a FANTASTIC game which I liked VERY MUCH. Ahhhh...what a nostalgy.

I can't speak for others, but i've mainly commented on the fighting being arcadey. I don't know what will the rpg side of the game be like, the demo is just too short to form an opinion.

MOH: Airborne is disgustingly short. Six hours on a first run through.

So far Hellgate looks kinda... cheeseball. There had better be a damn good reason for the text conversations, which probably means hours and hours of superfluous reading which is a big 'hell no' in this generation of gaming. It played a lot like Tabula Rasa too (RPG'd shooting = fail), and the demo wasn't too spiffy looking, no better than VTM: Bloodlines.

I can tolerate EA's d***ing with the Burnout series, because theres no way they can ruin it (I just jinxed Paradise City, f***).

I don't know what will the rpg side of the game be like, the demo is just too short to form an opinion. The demo details enough about how the character interaction and quest parts of the RPG elements work and there isn't anything there to rave about really. Aside from that the maps are repetitious and not very creative or graphically up to par with other games.

I often hear the comment "just a demo", but IMO a developer releases a demo to show off their work. That means they want to show you enough in that demo to hook you into buying the game. If this is all they have to show us I am definitely not interested.

I believe CoD4 has been the best demo ive played so far (Havent tried UT3 yet)

I just played the demo and didn't even finish it. Black and white with very little color. I'll pass on that one.
