Dear XFX Support

I order a 7950gt AGP for my Dell 8800 Dimension, in change of my old 5200, but lately i have a problem whit my DVI port 1, the screen was showing wierd blue pixel around lights, and black screens, and distortions, and finally a completly black screen, since then i have been forced to use the DVI port 2 and i trie almost everything from change the DVI VGA convertors to change the Drivers and unplugged the card. i dont know what else to do..and i hope in the future have another screen working.

Thanks

(sorry for the redaction i don't speak English)

Hi, join the club I have a very similar problem, my port 1 also has issues, I noticed it first in the startup screens of Half-Life 2, odd rendering, and the lines in all my programs. It seems to be a problem with the card. I now have to fight with the retailer to get the card swopped, and they will not give me a new card until the card is tested and verified to be faulty (which could take weeks). It is extremely fustrating, this card was very expensive and in 2 months I have this issue. The second port seems fine, but who knows how long it will last.

Mine has a Blue Port too... Chances are that is the only problem you will ever have, if you only use one monitor it is not a problem.

However if you can not exchange the video card through your retailer, please start a support ticket at www.xfxforce.com. If you live in North or South America I can help process the RMA.

Hi; I have XFX 7950 GT 512MB AGP, it`s connected to my monitor by DVI-1 using the VGA dongle that came with the package, it worked normally for few days and when i was playing, the screen color turned to green for just a second or less maybe then the screen became blank but i still hear the sounds of the game as normal, i waited few minutes but nothing happend then i restarted the PC but i still couldn`t see anything, there is no signal during the POST, i can`t even see BIOS splash screen or anything prior to windows booting, all i really see is the screen flashs for barely a second in the exact same time when the PC case speaker beeps one normal beep showing that the POST was OK and it`s ready to boot, after that i can hear windows welcome tone. I have changed the monitor with different one but nothing changed the same problem, then i connected the monitor with DVI-2 but this time everything worked normally!, i swiched between the two DVI ports several time hoping the first port would work, but i get the same result everytime (there is no signal when using DVI-1 but when i use DVI-2 everything is normal). Does that mean that i should stick with the second port till it die like the first one did, is there any chance to fix the first DVI port, please tell me what to do? :help:

No, you can not fix it. You could RMA it to XFX, or just keep it if you only use one monitor. Make sure you fill out the warranty either way you go. This is a common problem. It seems like it is only the DVI-1 port that goes bad, never heard of both. Just know if you RMA you have a chance of getting a card that has even more problems.

I've gone through two AGP 7950GT's due to hardware failure. I do not understand why XFX will not acknowledge all these problems and do a recall of some sort. Does anyone even have a 7950 that actually works?
My first one developed the same blue tint in one of the ports, so I returned it to newegg. The replacement that they sent died in 3 hours. Graphical glitches during boot and wouldn't display at all once windows had started.
I think newegg has started to realize this, since they seem to have pulled the 7950 from their shelves due to all these failures.
look here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=7950gt+agp&x=0&y=0)

I think the link you are looking for is here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150223

I actually wonder myself what is the longest that anyone has owned this card without failure myself. The most I heard of so far is 2 months. Has anyone owned this card longer then that?

***EDIT*** Link address keeps changing on Newegg....Just google "Newegg 7950GT AGP" and it should be the first link.

Longest I had out of 2 cards was a week and a half.

We all got to agree, when this card works it is awesome...

Definitely! I was happier then a 18 year old virgin in a whore house with my dads platinum credit card. But thats what causes the big disappointments though. It is like we are teased with outstanding performance and then it gets taken away like a bully trying to make you cry by farting in your face.

Hi

I have had my card for 3 months no issues (except if I have the computer set to go into standby), until 2 weeks ago, port 1 failed. I am in the unfortunate position of being in South Africa, and getting the card replaced seems to be extremely difficult.

Hmmmm You said you have problems if you had it set to 'standby'. What problems were caused? Because I have my computer on standby all the time. So I would be interested to hear if this is a problem.

Hi,

I would get a screen full of artifacts, I noticed a bit of a pattern, changing from a game that uses DirectX and then to a game that uses OpenGL. I would then have to reboot the computer, and then there would be not issues. Without the computer set to go into Standby, I have no issues, so now that the way the computer is configured.
This happened with every driver version as well.

But the port issue is my main concern.
