Ok the title of my post says it all. Yes the only way i could get rid of my nvlddmkm driver display error was to underclock my brand new XFX 8800 Ultra Extreme!!! I had to underclock it down to 630 mhz from the original 650! Why does this solve the tdr? I dont know, but it does. Now I am just leaving my two cents on this forum. Dont get me wrong i know xfx is a great gpu vendor, but my $700 8800 Ultra was unstable at its factory overclocked speed. And beleive me when i said i tried everyother solution you could think of trying to get rid of my nvlddmkm error. This was a sad realiztion, but i had to do it so i could enjoy gaming!!

Did you start a support ticket at www.xfxforce.com letting them know of the situation? If not start a support ticket and let me know the number. Lowering the clock speeds is a great way to test, but we dont expect you to have to lower clock speeds to get the video working properly.

That's interesting...:???: I never tried to underclock my Leadtek 8800GTX when I had those TDR problems. But like many of you already know, I don't have those TDRs anymore, after I lowered my CPU overclock and went back to the 158.45 Video Drivers.
But, I'll try to remember this, in case those TDRs will come back after my planned re-format and re-installation on Windows Vista Ultimate (I'm still waiting to find the right time to do it during the weekend, but since I don't have too many problems at the moment, except for a few freezes every 2-3 days, it's not that urgent...;-))
Thanks for the info and GOOD LUCK. Maybe you need to RMA the card afterall. :???:
I'm pretty sure that xfxsupport will do the maximum he can to help you solve your problems.
