Firstly, I apologize if this is a duplicate post, just found this site this morning and browsed through all the topics and found some issues similar to mine, but not completely identical.

My system specs:
XFX nForce 680i LT
XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 640mb
E6600 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz
Zalman CNPS9500 CPU Cooler
OCZ GameXStream 850w Power Supply
OCZ Platinum Rev. 2 PC 6400 DDR2 800MHz (4x1024)
Power Up Black 2559 Mid-T ATX
2x Seagate SATA 250 gb Hard Drives.

This is the first time I've purchased parts instead of buying a pre-made and I'm having my technician from work assemble it for me.

The problem: PC is all assembled, blue led is up on the motherboard, when case power button is turned on, all fans spin but nothing else happens, Green and Yellow led's come on. Upon reading suggestions here, we've tried the following: Booting up with 1 stick of memory and alternating it's position, booting up with 1 stick of generic memory, disconnecting the power and removing the CMOS battery, waiting and then replacing. We've checked all the jumpers and all connections, they seem fine. My power supply has 2x4 pin connectors instead of a single 8 to plug in near the cpu, it seems attached with no problems.

I've also read about an issue with some of the boards having a slight curve to them and when they are screwed into the case, it causes them to straighten thus separating some connectors. He tried booting with the motherboard out of the case and we made some progress. After removing it from the case and removing and removing the CMOS battery he got the XFX screen to display and into the BIOS but as he tells me, with no battery he could not save any settings. He then re-installed the battery and tried again, and we're back to the same issue.

Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated. I've submitted a ticket on the XFX webpage, my number is 114944.

Thanks in advance.

At this point if it will not boot with the CMOS battery installed, but does boot with it removed I would point a finger a faulty battery or connection causing a short. Can you try with a different battery? I will also ensure you get support on your ticket.
