Friends computer

Ok so im on a war path!! My friends setup is

AMD Athlon64 4000+ (Sandy)
DFI Lanparty nF3 Ultra S939 AGP
4x512mb PC2700 DC Kingston Value
BFG 7800GS OC 256mb
Ultra X2 550watt SLI
Maxtor 200gig ATA133
Maxtor 300gig ATA133
Antec Sonata II case (Most are my old parts, vid card, mobo, ram, case)

Anywhos he was getting about 3600 3dmark06 score. I got tired of him not being able to max games like i was with that system (I used a heavily OCed 3000+ instead) so im on a war path to make it better. Ill let you know my results when im done soon.

Ok well i got his video card up to 470/685 from 400/635 and his cpu to 2.92@1.61v. I backed that down to 2.9ghz @ 1.56 though. It wasnt running hot but it kinda made me paranoid with all those volts.

So far he can play UT3 maxed out now. Havent tried anything else.

If im reading this right your core voltage is at 1.6, I dont know about amd's but for intels thats starting to get dangerous.

Lol my 3000+ was running 1.55. But its recomended not to go over 1.5 unless your on some sort of good cooling. His temps where fine though but his OC is down to 2.75 and his Vcore is 1.45 right now. Next time im over there i will fiddle with it some more.

Actualy im getting the same performance outa his AGP monster that i used to with my 7950GT stock.
8800 on AGP...such a waste.Nah, if its like a GTS 320mb or something it would actualy cap bandwidth at the cards max potential. Im trying to get him to get a 7950GT but im seeing people are still getting monster problems with them so he said hes gonna keep my 7800GS till he upgrades to AM2+.

What sort of Resolution is he running at?He has a standard "box" 19" so 1280x1024. So far, i can max UT3 out on his machine. Not to shabby.

You can max ut3 on his machine but can you max CRYSIS. LOL

Havent tested Crysis yet but im sure it will be fine. Its still only DX9.

You should be able to run most things on high but you wont manage very high I have a quad oc to 3 ghz and a 8800 gts overclocked and I cant manage very high.

Thats cause were not running DX10 ;) We cant run in Very High.
