Hi, I am interested in a new keyboard, primarily for gaming and was wondering if you guys ( women too) have any ideas.
Razor too expensive - Logitech seem too big and awkward maybe a saitek eclipse II. As always all advice welcome.

Damien.

Get a G15, I am a freak and like laptop style keyboards so I have a... http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16823126022

I like the short key throw, and so forth.

I used to only use laptops so I was used to small keyboards. So when I got a PC i went for the biggest keyboard i could get my hands on.

The microsoft digital media pro. hands-down. the best keyboard out there!!!
I have been using that keyboard for like 8 years now and its still kickin!!!!!!
I just replaced it with the exact same keyboard as they letters were wearing off the keys. other then that 8 years of abuse and that thing still works better then other keyboard i own or know of anyone owning.
The microsoft digital media pro is probably the toughest keyboard on the market. Atleast in my opinion.
If your looking for simple functionality with true reliability go with that keyboard. If your looking for something a lil fancier then i would head on over to razor.

I personally use this (http://www.rosewill.com/product/product.aspx?productId=254) because I don't have to push the buttons down as far...Lots of other people don't like it though. It works for me.

Thats exactly like a laptop keyboard. Its a pretty good one and they dont make any noise.

The G15 is too much and the keys are just... funny to me. They lack solidity, and the click just seems faked.

I use a Saitek Eclipse, Red Edition.

Blue/Red/Purple Eclipse II (Not familiar, but likely very similar):

It should take more pressure to press a key down, but less to hold it, with the actual press of the key somewhere inbetween. Its that change in pressure that makes some keyboards easier for me to type quickly on, while others lack the tactile confirmation.

I have the Zboard Merc keyboard, got a gaming pad on the end, very slid keyboard, no complaints about it. Software can use up to 100mb or RAM at times though :(

I've used those saiteks and they feel pretty nice very similiar to the feel of my microsoft. good solid key press. Thing is they break!!! unless you like usin bottle caps to get some angle on it i dont reccommend it.

I've had mine banging around on a floor setup for at least a month and haven't had trouble or breakage, including kicks from steel toe boots. Saitek makes quality peripherals lately, not to say they did in the past (See: Cyborg joysticks). I also type with it on my lap and such almost exclusively. Its when you type with your hands at an upward angle and resting your wrists on something hard or sharp that causes carpal tunnel. If you loft your wrists properly while typing, like on old typewriter, you don't need any angle or such and you'll be faster too.
