Does anyone know where the information of volt modding (pencil) a black PCB 7950GT AGP 512mb.

Or is there any other ways of raising the voltage to overclock more.

thx

DO NOT OVER CLOCK A 7950GT AGP!

They blow so often with out being overclocked; overclocking one will be a one way ticket to RMA.

Are you serious, thats crap i thought it would be like the 7800GS+ i own as well, alittle volt mod and you get clocks like 670core and 1520mem.

Games run so much better when you can oc higher, i thought the 7950GT were good agp card, so basically there like the 1950pro you cant oc them either.

I might as well stick with my awesome Gainward 7800GS+ G71 core (basically a better 7950gt in disguise, at least you can oc this baby as i mentioned before 670/1520)

Yeah unfortunately what Miker said is true. I am getting my third card in the mail now actually. Even changed the cooling and that did not help stabilize the card either even though temps were a heck of a lot lower. I am actually going to be downclocking my next one right away in hopes that it lasts.

You should just sell it and get a 1950pro with that at least it wont die on you on std clocks and i heard not a half bad card.

I feel so luck i have my Gainward 7800GS+ G71 5112 24pp rev2, if i didint have i prob get the 1950pro.

Why dont you try and find a Gainward, i tell there a beast oc and it wont let you down, mines been going strong at 670/1520 in 2d mode as well 3d mode for 6mths now and still can go further if i up the voltage

But since im on air it i cant go up to far cos the card gets warmer, at the moment im idling at 45-50 and load 75-80 and at stock it war idle 38-43 load 50-60.

Not bad eh on oc temps. i thought all G71 cores with ref PCI bridge chips were stable and you could push further maybe not with XFX, silly really cos they must get loads of RMAs on the same thing, what a headache.

Don't know Gainward at all and really not interested in their products to tell you the truth. The reason why I bought and XFX 7950GT AGP in the first place was because I had the 5950 Ultra and it was an awesome card and I never had to RMA it or did I have any problems till just recently and decided to upgrade. After I bought the card and waited for it a friend of mine was thinking of buying the same one if it proved to be a good card. He went online and found out that there was a bunch of people who had problems with it. I did a google search and this was the site that did the review for the card and had the forums for it as well as support from XFX themselves. After reading about all the problems I wished I did not buy it but kept hopeful anyway. Boy was I wrong. I never had a more unstable card or any piece of electronics in my life. This was the worst buy I had ever made and it was my fault as I should have researched it further before buying it. In the future however I will like to see some quality in their products such as solid state capacitors, better cooling (without the mess of thermal goo making the GPU swim for its life) and the damn screw to screw the card in. I had to look around my parts bin for almost an hour and a half to find one.

When there are too many small things not taken into account it affects the bigger picture and it really did with this product. I would not recommend this product to nobody unless you are extremely lonely and like talking to Shannon for company because you will get to know each other rather well.

Sadasius and Miker, you guys have been an awesome help to me-- thanks for all the help with the cooling and the installation of the 7950GT AGP. Unfortunately my 5 yr old mobo couldnt handle the new card (or PSU) and the mobo blew. I spent my savings and over the past 2 weeks I bought an entirely new system (while keeping some old components.) My new mobo is the AsRock 4core dual- sata2 which has both AGP 8X AND PCIE. I bought 2GB of DDR2 as well, and a Core 2 Quad Q6600 (the best value/performance ratio in cpus IMO) and a SATA2 hard drive (3.0Gbps transfer rate.) I got a Raidmax 868 Scorpio windowed case with 4 tornado fans and a fan controller as well as this fantastic pci slot fan/blower withh a rating of 60CFM (almost as high as the tornadoes!)

I also got a new power supply for my new quad cpu, the Corsair VX 550W with a single 12V rail with 41A!!! Suprisingly enough, I got all this rather cheaply, and the entire package cost me less than $500! I had this up and running for a week now and the 7950GT is performing fine-- with with two LCD monitors running off both DVIs. I overclocked the card to 620/765 and it doesnt even break 80C! Just to test it, I ran it without the fantastic PCI-slot cooler and gaming temps were around 90C! I set it back to normal clocks again though-- just in case, and reinstalled the slot fan. My "rest" temps for the gpu are around 38C and it doesnt go past 75C, even in intense gaming now. I run the 93.82 drivers that came with the card and I get consistent 3dMark06 scores above 5500. Just in case something does happen to my card, I bought the Radeon x1950pro off my friend for $50.
