Hi,
Bought pair of XFX 8600 GTS 512 Megs for my Asus A8N32 Sli deluxe motherboard, have AMD Athalon 64 4000, 2 gig of memory and an FSP 600watt power supply. When I install the cards in my system it will not post anything to the monitor, can't even see the logo screen. I do not know what the problem is, I have the latest motherboard bios. When I remove them and put my old pair XFX 6800 back in computer everything works fine. I did post a help request from XFX, but I am also trying this to find out if anyone can help me out. Frustrating, especially when I asked before I bought from XFX if the new cards would work and was told it would.

Thanks in adavance for any help.

That 8600GTS 512MB is a little unusual as that it requires you to use the power adapter that came with it, or it will not work. The reason behind this is that our 8600GTS 512MB uses both the 5v and 12v rail. This way we can add the extra memory with out cutting the memory bandwith in half like some of the other companies do.

they still will not boot, I am going to return them both to New Egg, I also noticed several other people who are having the same problem as me with this product, hope to get it resolved and get replacements. Bought these both based on past excellent experience with XFX products

Did it do the same thing when you put only one card in the system ?

Keep us posted on how it goes. So far once the customers know they NEED to use the special power adapter that comes with the video card their issues are resolved.

I do have an Asus A8N32 Deluxe motherboard that has an ez-plug on the motherboard. In the manual it says to use only when your video cards do not have a 6 pin connector. Do you think I should use the ez-plug for these particular video cards? In addition to using the 6 pin power adapter that comes with the cards? Just a thought.

thanks again for your help,
