I just installed my new XFX 7600GT Extreme in my case. My monitor cable uses the smaller pin plug that plugs into the video card, so I had to use the power adapter to plug it into the card. However, my monitor will now not turn on like it isnt connect. I have checked to make sure it is plugged in correctly, and it is. I even tried both plug slots. Is there anything I am missing? I have a 475W PSU, so I don't think I need to use the extra power dongle.

I did a search but didn't really come up with anything. What reason could there be for the monitor not turning on? The temp crap video card I had in there worked fine before. Now that I am trying to use the adapter, the monitor just stays blank on boot.

ANY HELP APPRECIATED!

What type of video card was in before this one? If it was onboard video please ensure that it has been disabled in the BIOS and/or Device Manager. Try also connecting to the other port on the video card. Do you have an extra DVI-VGA adapter as I have seen those go out before?

Have you made sure that you have a dedicated rail for your video card. Have you tested the monitor on another computer?
