This should make it a lot easier to tweak your settings for best Crysis performance. Included are ways to get Very High mode out of XP and a way of getting as much as 30% better FPS and very similar graphics to Very High mode via a few tweaks.

Thanks for the info, Frag Maniac! :icon_tiphat:

Although I quite "optimized" my Crysis (DEMO) already, this one sounds useful, so I'm pretty sure I'll read it and use it once I'll get my copy of the Full Retail game! (Damn...can't wait anymore to get my pre-ordered copy...It's taking damn too long to arrive to the stores in Israel...:frown:)

Your welcome, and thanks to the one that really deserves it, Koroush, founder and guide master of Tweakguides.com. He really outdid himself this time coming out with such a detailed, comprehensive review in such short time.

Do make note of the System.cfg (avoids re-typing commands), con_restricted = 0 (opens console for advanced commands), and zip of the entire set of commands.;-)

Please report your success or lack thereof with the tweaks guys. The only dissappointment for me so far was in trying to remove the radial blur (g_radialBlur) from explosions. The guide says if you set g_radialBlur to 0 it will remove radial blur from explosions. I found that it merely reduces it to the lowest level (1), which is still quite blurry and FPS draining. The same happens with depth of field using ironsights (g_dof_ironsight) but at least there it's tolerable as the blur is very minimal at 1 with little to no FPS drain.

As far as I can tell setting shaders to Medium or higher automatically adds in radial blur, which may defeat the g_radialBlur 0 command. Either that or Koroush is wrong and there is no 0 option with radial blur and depth of field. I'm not about to give up Medium shaders though because the game looks lousy without it.
