Hello everyone! I'm in the market for a new LCD TV. I'm not sure if off topic is the right section for this.. but I'm not sure where else to post!

I'm looking for the best deal I can get for around 1600 dollars and hopefully something on newegg. I'd rather order a TV online then get ripped off at best buy or something. I'm not really sure what else to post other then that.. if anyone can help that'd be great =) Thanks guys!

Wal-Mart has best prices, Newegg has a horrible return policy on dead pixels.

It is best to get a smaller better company then a bigger cheap one. Samsung is one of the best.

I'm anti Wal-Mart lol. What do you think about this one ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889253092

First, Wal-Mart is usually $100 cheaper then anyone else. Newegg if you have one dead pixel you can't return it, youu need 8 dead pixels. I would buy anything but a LCD from Newegg.

Well what if I strike lucky and get no dead pixels =P? I really hate wal-mart :(

I got my 27 inch Samsung at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart really is the best for TVs.

Right on mate! I have never even been into a Wall Mart. I would rather ruin the planet and our economy some other way.

Never said they are a company with morals, just said there TVs are cheap. I would bet more then 90% of Americans have been in a Wal-Mart at least once.

Feel free to pay $100-$200 more from somewhere else with a really bad return policy.

Check the final "to your door" price and then compare TVs at your local stores before you order online. You may be surprised and you may also find someone who will work with you on the price. Buying a TV these days can be a similar experience to buying a car. You wouldn't buy a car online would you?

Anyway, you may find it a better peace of mind to buy local where you can just take it back and exchange it for one that works if you are unlucky and receive a "dud". Sometimes this costs less in the long run, not to mention it's not as stressful. ;-)

I bought my westinghouse 37" LCD TV from a local store last year.

The prices were hovering around 1100 at the time and I got it for 975 out the door (That's tax and everything).

Sometimes stores give you a great price. Point is, do your research you may find a great price after only a little bit of looking.

Local store is the best way to go with something like this. Wal-mart is not the only one out there with good prices. Just watch for specials that stores run. The best price is about the right timeing. Also keep in mind that they may not have the model you want in the store but they might be able to get it for you, and some times the price is way lower than you think on something like that. The best is to find the one you want on line then look in stores for it, and ask if they can get it if you done see it. You might have to go back more than once to get the right sales guy that will hook you up. It really is becoming like buying a car.

A guy i work with got the Newest version of the Sony Bravia XPB (120Mhz refresh rate XBR5) before the floor models where out at Sears and he got it for a complete steal. Sony says its price is 4,299.99 he got it for $1800. Don't ask me how. I still can't believe it, but it happened.

Check Costco. Not sure what their prices are in the US, but they're pretty good here in Canada. Vizio and Westinghouse get good reviews.

I have another point. Im sure everybody knows what mail people do to boxes marked fragile. How about a really big one thats gonna make them carry something really heavy? Your almost guaranteed to have something wrong with it. Also like was mentioned, you can wheel and deal with a store. Frys also has some great deals. If you dont really like Wal Mart that bad i stress at least go to Frys and buy one form them. Return factor is a must on a tv.

I thought you had to have membership to go to Cost-Co?

I even managed to wheel and deal at Wal-Mart. Got a crap 23 Inch LCD with one green pixel, returned it, no stock, upgraded me to a 27inch Samsung. 27inch Samsung for $600, beat that.

Has anyone ever heard of "price match?" :P Go where ever you feel comfortable to shop, and if they want your business, they will price match your desired item.
