Can it be possible that the technology of graphics would rise until it become real like what we see in real life? I think that sounds pretty possible. I wonder... Hmmm... How about you guys?

That's what they are aiming for!

You mean video game graphics right?
If so then based on how graphics technology has developed thus far, I wouldn't be surprised; just take a look at Crysis.

Crysis is good but COD 4 is even better I think. Yeah I want it to get so real when I frag somebody with a shutgun I see there guts pumping blood out as they crook with me standing over them.
:ahhhhh:
Yikes got a little graphic there.

Actualy that would be awesome. And CoD4 looks like a revamped version of CoD2 put in modern time. I thikn Crysis is the best looking game out so far.
I believe, video technology will go as far as possibly holograms. Like the holodeck on Star Trek and the Doc.

Holograms have already been done....Nice effects but it is rather low tech. It just lasers. I remember playing holographic games when I was younger at the arcade. It was really cool at the time though but it uses usually only a couple colors.
The Star Trek Version of holograms would be cool but I don't even know if it is even possible to control photons in such a manner.

They are getting there. There is still of pre-calculated things happening but it is getting better.
Crysis is a good example of things happening more randomly. Graphics are important.
But ask yourself this. If an image you see looks so real standing still, be it a person, house etc, and then you go to interact with it but it doesnt react they "way it should" doesn't that do more to break your immersion than life-like graphics?
I wait for the day where I can interact with anything IN ANY WAY!
Run out of bullets? Grab your knife cut off a thick branch and shave it into a spear. Launch it at some enemy and pierce his shooting arm. Said enemy turn around and starts firing with his off arm but is a lousy shot due to the injury. Hiding behind a tree you wait unit he loses consciousness from blood loss.
THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! But that takes A LOT of programming and we arent there yet.

Would be awesome but then again would be opening a new can of worms at the same time. People would really lose touch with reality then and be fully engulfed in the digital one in which they have more control.

Lol if thats the case then i wouldnt care. Its sorta like if you had a holodeck from Star Trek. I would be on it everyday all the time. But, trying to do all that (What Gonz said) with a mouse and keyboard. Sounds really difficult. So were more into virtual reality again, which is heading towards my idea more.

Yeah you will need a special costume which has all kinds of sensory maps. A mere keyboard and mouse will not have a place in such an environment.

Worst job on the Enterprise: Holodeck Janitor.
Because what is every dude on the ship going to be doing in there.

Well it's getting there, but I do not believe that it will get as realistic as real life. If everything in the game would look just like in real life, then you would need an extremelly fast computer system. Maybe in 5 years? 10 years sounds more reasonable for photorealistic images. Crysis is almost there, although there are still things that you can improve in.
This brings up one thing. The more realistic it is the more work there is with a game. So that would result in less games over a time period.
I don't know about video games getting too real. I mean when I play a video game I want to escape from reality, not reenact it. Having realistic visuals is one thing, and having a realistic environment is another. They're totally two different things.

I just thought of 3d movie in universal studio and it would be fun to play games like that lol. :) Thinking about your main charactor poping out of the screen haha.

You get in the game to escape from reality but its so real you can do what you normaly wouldnt od in real life. Like get in a suite and pound some f*ckers up. Or take out the whole Korean army or somethin.
