Ron Paul is scary. His kind of thinking is what got us into WWII. We may not of done the smartest things in the past but you can not shut us in from the rest of the world and pretend it does not exist.

Basically the nation did not want to involve itself in world happenings back then. Congress and the Senate did not want to have anything to do with the war in Europe or protecting Britian.

President Rosevelt did want to support Britian in the war but did not have the power to over rule congress and the senate. So when Japan was attacking China and other parts of the Pacific he was able to cut off oil and metal sales to Japan.

The conspiracy thinkers of the world would say he did this hoping Japan would retilate againts us and we could then get in the war. Well they did retilate with the attack on Pearl Harbor. Around 2100 American service man where killed on that day. Over 1000 of them just on the battleship Arizona when it exploded due to a direct bomb hit on its forward powder magazine.

Many say the president knew the attack was coming and let it happen to pull us into the war. So the attack happened and drug us into war with Japan and 3 days later Germany declared war on the USA.

Interesting fact is December 7th the first shot of the war was fired by the USS Ward of the entrance to Pearl Harbor when it fired on a Japanese midget sub. The men in the sub died so we did take the first lives that day.

And last point of interest, Hawaii was not a state back then. But we still went to war. And during that war batlles happened where 1000's of US service men died in a day. 9-11 did happen on US soil and to a major US cities and more people died in that day than December 7th but the Democrats do not feel the war againts terror is worth fighting. And neither does Ron Paul

I know this, but still most of the people according to text where for the war and wanted it to stop beofre something like Pearl Harbor happend.

As to the last paragraph. We all know that war is going nowhere. Its like the war on drugs. There will always be terrorists and there will always be drugs. Why give our lives for something we cant win?

Ok,

Well I would rather have the war on terror waged in the middle east then here in the USA. If we do not keep them pinned down and fighting our troops then they will build up forces, come across our unguarded boarders and start killing us here.

But that is just me. I would like to think we are keeping them pinned down and my children will grow up and not killed by a car bomb or a nuke because of us fighting them over there.

If the Dem's or Ron Paul win the White House then it is time for me to go take advantage of the second ammendmant and be ready to fight to the death to protect my family.

Get ready, because they may be fighting over there but theres still nothing stopping anybody else from waltzing up to our doorstep and kicking it down. World in Conflict sounds about right (even though its a game, just go with it). We have like no defenses over here so if they DID come over we would be. Well. Screwed. Pick up your guns boys cause its a good time to live in the South. From political debates ive read (and i read many) China has their eyes fixed on taking us down silently. Whether this is true or not its stil lsomething to think about. In case that might happen, would you want our boys here to actualy defend our country? Or over there waging a war and dieing for something that cant be stopped?

That is another reason we need Fred Thompson to become president, he wants to build the army back up to a million man army. Clinton did nothing but cripple the military might that Reagon built.

He would rebuild our strength back to what it needs to be.

Aren't we trying to protect ourselves from the terrorists?

Don't people try to protect themselves from what their scared of?

If we are scared of terrorists, aren't we letting them win?

Terrorism=an idea

You can't fight an idea with guns.

Terrorism is everywhere, not just in the middle east (but it is more common over there).

The war on terror is a bunch of :flag_bs:.

However, I do like the idea of helping countries better their government to prevent dictatorships.

One thing I didn't understand is why Sudam was a target in the war on terror when he was actually trying to get Al Quida out of Iraq prior to the war.

As far as the elections go, I'm not to keen on any of the candidates. I'm just going to have to wait a bit more before I make a concise decision.

I think the thing America needs most is a President who will improve their image with all the other countries. You guys keep isolating yourselves, its not getting any better for yas from where I sit. :ahhhhh:
