Hey everyone, I'm looking for some good orchestra music. I particularly like the strings. Does anyone have any suggestions? :help:

Dimmu Borgir, has some nice stuff, usually 1song/album, otherwise its good symphonic black metal

Jacqueline du Pre, best cellist ever. See her Dvorak and Elgar work.

If you're looking for a more post-modern take on minimalism with some hauntingly good melody, check out the band Rachel's. The album "Music for Egon Schiele" and "Selenography" are both amazing. Start with Selenography and then read about Egon Schiele before you listen to that album.

No black metal, whenever I listen to metal I like it to be the heaviest, most brutal stuff ever. I like Dying Fetus, Hate Eternal, Beneath the Massacre, The Berzerker, Devil Driver, etc.

But I also listen to pretty much any form of electronic music, in addition to a little bit of other genre's. I'm just trying to broaden my horizons a bit more with adding one of the more overlooked genres.

Well, you should pick up the "Requiem For A Dream" soundtrack its great!

But my favourite classical stuff is the ones in the attatchment. Really hard to find, I came accross it by accident. His name can also be spelt Khachaturian, or a few other variations, as it was originaly spely in russian i believe

In classical music I think my personal best is Canon in D from Johann Pachelbel.
