Dead Ram Stick

Hey, was building a new computer for my friend.

Bought a Mushkin 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory


I was having a bunch of problems with the computer with lock ups and freezing and narrowed it down to this ram.

When I put both sticks in, i get random lock up and some times i make it past post to the loading screen and then it freezes.

One stick it works, try the second stick alone, and it doesn't get past POST.

So i have a dead stick. What should I do?

If bought from Mushkin RMA it, if bought locally take it back to where you got it from. Basicaly it should get replaced by who you purchased it from if this was a recent less than 30-day purchase.
