Can I give my buddy my WinXP CD?

My buddy has a Dell computer running WinXP Pro. He asked me to reinstall the OS however he does not have the installation CD. Would it be OK to use my own CD and use he's Product Key?

just make sure you get the drivers from dell . because a lot of them components need their drivers ..

Yes, its just a setup CD like anyother one you can buy.

His product key *may* not work with your version. Depends on where you got yours. If yours was an OEM or retail version, it probably won't work. Big manufacturers had different keys than OEM or retail versions. I tried it just last night with XP Home, for the same reason. Also, if your disc has SP2 included, for instance, and his original did not, it will not work.
