I recently fitted the new 780i Xfx Mobo to my system and ever since WinAvi just doesn't seem to work(8 or 9) It was working fine beforehand with my Asus P5ne-sli 650i. I'm just wondering if there are imcompatibility issues with this mobo being new. My dvd drive is pretty new as is the rest of my system. What makes me think it is the mobo is It worked fine until I fitted it. I also fitted another 2 gig of DDR2 Geil Ultra ram at the same time and a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and the Corsair Dominator ram cooler( I put my HD's in Raid 0 too). I am using Windows Xp Pro 32bit. WinAvi converts the movie but when I go to burn it to disc it just hangs at 0% and I have to re-boot my system. I don't think it is my drive as Nero is burning files and stuff perfect(It copy's DVD's fine too). Here are the rest of my system specs.

Q6600 @ 2.4
XFX MB-N780I-ISH9, nForce 780i SL
Xfi Extreme Gamer soundcard
2 x 320gb AAKS HD's in Raid 0
OCZ 600W PSU
4 GB Geil Ultra Ram PC6400 800MHz (4-4-4-12)

Has anybody else with the same mobo as me had similar problems with WinAvi?

When you changed from the Asus P5ne-sli 650i to the xfx 780i did you reinstall windows?

I suggest using a alternative like D.I.K.O etc. doom9.org is a good reference start if your not familiar with encoding.

WinAvi is known for instability and I am sure with new hardware it might be the reason. Though it actually completes you say... i would not use the burn feature on that program. Use Ahead Nero and check your luck. You will get better compatibility along side using Nero in the long run.
