Hi there, I hope this is an appropriate place to post this. Whenever my kids buy dvd's they get mangled and scratched to shreds in no time meaning I have to shell out more bucks to buy the same movie again. I have learnt my lesson and decided to learn how to back them up and that way they just use the backup while the original is safe and sound in a box whenver it may be needed again.

Anyways in XP Pro 32bit I used to use dvdshrink with nero and anydvd. This process worked great and I never had any troubles. However I recently built a new system on an xfx 680ilt board with a q6600 go and decided I wanted to put xp pro 64bit on as I now have 4gb of ddr2800 and wanted to make use of it all.

The programs appear to work fine, I backup the movie and it even says successful. However, after watching the movie halfway through it resets back to the startup screen. I can't choose through the seen selections past that certain point either.

Do these programs not function properly in 64bit and if not what should I use?

Any help is appreciated.

Have you checked the websites if the software is supported for Windows Xp 64-Bit. if not, you might have some problems... check, them, If i were you, you should invest on DVDFab, one touch back up, best thing I did.

It highly unlikely its support since DVD shrink has been in development is a very long time and based on the supported OS from their website:
Operating System Support - Windows 9x/2000/XP

http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html
Vista is not supported...

DVDfab Platinum is a great app.

DVDFab HD Decrypter is a good alternative since its freeware and AnyDVD is not.

Sounds like its similar to DVD Decrypter.

It is similar, but a lot faster. It runs in the background. I don't believe it's compatible with Vista 64.

I use it along with 1 click DVD Pro. That's all I need to make a backup.
