I thought the same thing at first. I would not spend money on this game. I will probably end up torrenting it to try it out and then make up my decision. Right now I just need a game to hold me over until warhammer online comes out.

Haha, Spore, it looks alright. I just want to build some volcanoes on random planets and make them livable.

A lot of people pre ordered it and they said that it is being shipped march 30. This seems right because the company that is releasing spore said it would be released around the end of Q1

On GameSpot it says Q2 2008, so I really hope you're right about Q1 and/or March 2008...
Anyway, I'll be looking forward this game and might it when it'll become available. :?

I was able to get up close and personal with Spore at CES and it looks more then promising. In fact brace yourselves as this could be one of, if not the largest games in history. You design everything from your creature to the vehicles, homes and even UFO's. You can even take over alien races via force or negotiation which ever best fits your style. While it does look to smash any existing records it does not look like my cup of tea (not unless you can switch to a first person view, grab a rocket launcher and impose your will upon others!!!).

With that said, I'm now eagerly waiting for its release...

Or...probably we are just guessing...
I guess we'll just have to wait patiently to find out.

This game looks good but I think warhammer online will win in the end.

Spore and Warhammer Online are two completely different kind of games... how can you compare them?! :? Warhammer looks like a promising game, but Spore could end up being a very innovative title that may evolve the gaming genre... It has some insanely high expectations and hype, and I only hope that it can live up to most it ;)

I know its a completely different genre. Im trying to say that warhammer will win in choosing which game I will play.

I see your point about War Hammer online, I personally and going nuts looking for a good PVP oriented MMORPG.

spore looks sooo good, I can't wait for it. i'm surprised its not more popular and hyped though.. seems like some mixed reviews in here
Warhammer looks great.. but the pay per month thing kinda drives me away. I've had a shady past with RPG's (D2.. played for four years), and im going to university next year. dont think ill have time for this (a choir, not just a game)
i'll go for spore before warhammer.

Just an update on Spore. Apparently the release date has been pushed back to an official September 7th release. Here's some of the details: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7242563.stm I just hope it isn't pushed back any further, since this looks to be really interesting game. After all, they're expecting $6billion in profits.
