Hey guys, me again lol.

Well seeing as I got a new mobo, I thought it would be wise to reinstall my operating systems. The way I had it before was: Ubuntu 7.10, Vistax64, Xp. I had The ubuntu grub boot menu load 1st, and I could select ubuntu or windows. if I selected windows it would then bring up the windows vista boot menu, where I could select vista or XP.

Now, since I dont have another hdd to swap data to and too much there for dvd's, what I did was go into ubuntu (cause I could still load that even after replaceing mobo) and I swapped all the data from the xp partition I needed to the vista partition. Then, I did a fresh install of xp to its same partition (cleared the partition 1st). Then, I swapped the data I needed from the vista partition to the xp partition through xp this time, as XP was the only boot option as it put itaself into the MBR. When I clreared the vista partition and did a fresh install of vista, for some reason it doesnt bring up the mbr boot menu to select either xp or vista, where usually it would.

What I need to do now is find a way to maybe edit the vista boot menu or repair it so it detects that XP is installed. Once I get that all working, I will then reinstall Ubuntu so my boot menu is back to how it originally was. But for now I need any tips or help you can give to how to fix this annoying little problem, as all I can access is Vista right now :(

You can set the default OS to boot to if you open msconfig. Idk how to make it see other OS's though. :frown:
