company of heros:opposing fronts

i just got the game and i can only play as british and the ss, is it because i dont have the first one?
and if i do need the first one, do i need a cd key or can i just install it?

To play Americans you would and the other German units you would need to get the first one and yes it is keyed.

The thing to do is this, uninstall the one you have remembering your username an d passowrd you setup for you profile. Install the first one and then put back on the Opposing Fronts.

The reason for this is the Opposing fronts does alot of patching and changes the interface for the game, if you put the first one on now you may make a mess of the entire thing.

I am not sure. Because I bought both my profile already included the original CoH. So when I install CoH Opposing Fronts and use my same profile I get access to all four playable races, and I don't have to install the original game at all anymore. I suspect if you bought CoH for $20 new someplace and add the key to your profile you can play everything without installing the original game. Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander Forged Alliance has been the same way.

The game looks great, but not had a chance to play it yet due to Vista issues... now that I am back to XP I'll have to try it again. :)
