ok so you can see my specs in my profile for my rig, and i understand that its not the greatest thing considering its agp based, however it does give decent performance with games even games of today. except battlefield 2 and company of heros lag ridiculously. ive turned the settings down and also turned the audio quality down too for less cpu usage, but still it lags just as bad. on average i usually only have 26-29 processes running and my machine hasnt changed for months except for a new sound card. i have the latest drivers from nvidia too. my concern is more towards coh because it lags sooooo bad. im pissed lol, help meh? :frown:
on a side note, could it just be the age of my parts maybe?

I think it's the age of your parts.

This come from 2 things, not enough RAM is one. 2nd is not enough video RAM. My PC wouldn't hardly run BF2 with 1G of Corsair XMS.

With a 3.4GHz extreme and a 7950GT AGP with 1G of ram I could pay at 1280x1024 maxed in single player, but online killed me. 2G of RAM and geting CPU to 3.6GHz+ helped.

Get 2X 1024 meg sticks will help you especially if your board supports duel channel which I think it does and is rather similar to my own. Get rid of the duel 512's. Maybe trade them up or something.

BF2 Multi-player (64player) uses so much RAM and CPU and that kills your FPS.

I could play maxed out at 1680X1050 with 128 bots (using bot number modifier) with no probs

I don't think its the card or the RAM that is causing BF2 issues as I had no problems playing in 64 player servers back when I had a OC'd 1600+, 1 Gig PC3200 and a X850 Pro, search around and there are some things you can adjust that aren't that important to the game but will hog up some resources. I don't know about COH, but you should have no problems with BF2 and that setup.

Bots don't stress the CPU and RAM like a 64player online. 1G of RAM is just not enough for high graphics in a 64player game.
