Its probably just because I'm at work, it filters things here (government network). I don't even get a red X so I couldn't tell if there was one there or not.

thats a generic IP from his router not the modem. dont matter post it wherever.
as for removing it. no point, it wont cause any harm if anything it adds higher functionality.
