My dad bought an 8600 GT a few months ago.
So until Saturday it's been running fine, but then we had a problem.
He tried to hook up our TV to our PC through the S-video output on our card, but as soon as he did the screen started acting all funny.
Starting up vista, the background when all red weird. Any video game we played would have the same problem, just with different colors.
Changing it from 32 to 16 bit color stopped the desktop anomaly but video games still had the same problem.
This is what it looked like:

So I tested it with other monitors and the same error occured, which meant it must be the card.
I took the card out and tried it in my (old) computer, surprisingly, there was no problem.
So my dad gave me the card to put in my brand new computer, because it was useless to him, and my motherboard didn't have an integrated video card.
Without the drivers it worked, but as soon as I installed them the anomaly began again.
System specs for reference:
Dad's computer
C2D clocked at 1.7 ghz
2 GB DDR2
XFX 8600 GT (AGP)
Vista ultimate
My old computer:
AMD Althon 4000+ (2.4 ghz)
1.5 GB DDR
6600 GT
XP pro
My new computer:
C2Q Q6600 (2.4 ghz)
2 GB Corsair DDR2
The same XFX 8600 GT
Vista ultimate
What's the deal?
