Hi guys,
I'm having an issue that is making me go nuts. I recently bought X360 and because my monitor does not have 2 inputs (just one DVI) I have to manually switch the cables between gfx card and X360.
But, whenever I unplug the cable from my 8800GT and then plug it back in, it does not work anymore. The monitor tries to get the signal from analog and digital source and after a while goes to sleep and the only thing I can do is hard reset the computer. I can plug or unplug the cable from X360 as I wish and it will always detect the monitor.
Is there any program that I can run after I plugged the cable back (from my gfx card)? I can set all the stuff before I unplug the cable and then just press Enter after I plug the cable back. I tried to do this with Nvidia CP. I chose My monitor is not on the list (before I unplugged the cable) and run Rigorous detection (after I plug it back in) but it did not work (or I did not execute it properly as it was a shot in the dark, I doubt I missed it though).
I never had such problems with all the ATI cards before. And this 8800GT is my first Nvidia. Is this a known problem for Nvidia or am I doing something wrong? There must be a way to get signal out after unplug/plug action.
Any help appreciated!
Monitor: Samsung 970P
OS: WinXP SP2
Gfx card: XFX 8800GT Ext. with 169.21 Drivers
