Does everything work correctly with the onboard video? The onboard video was disabled in the BIOS correct or just in device manager? Let me grab an 8600GT and test it out there just to ensure there are no problems.

OK, what can help us is typing proper English in full complete sentences. I'm not saying this to offend you, its just a tip so we can help provide accurate information to you. Can you post your full system specs, preferably as a signature.

Sounds like you tried Driver Cleaner, which I think you used wrong.

-Uninstall the nvidia drivers, download the latest drivers but do not install yet
-enter safe mode and run the Driver Cleaner under "Nvidia"
-restart, then install the drivers, make sure your BIOS reads PCI-E and not on-board video.

I did exactly that and it still recognized the onboard video because they use the same driver. What I'm thinking is that my psu cant handle it, its 300W says "shall not exceed 268W" so should i pick up a 450W?

Might as well pick up at least a 600. That way, you have some upgradeablility later on. Plus, you'll have good clean power and you won't have to use an adapter for the PCIe card. Just get a decent brand. PSU's are just about the most overlooked component.

So, is it my PSU? or is 300w good enough?

Im gonna take a guess and say that it is the PSU, and I know we are dealing with a manufactured band company such as dell, HP, etc... Since you are using on board video, and a 300w PSU. What you can try before you buy a new PSU is remove unnecessary items, such as extra HDD's, CD/DVD Drives. Making sure that only the main components have power, and from their, you can test your PSU which should allow more power to it. If it continues, your best bet is that the problem is being caused by the PSU.

May I suggest this one, this is a great deal:

I ran the config, with no issues. If you are getting constant disconnects while both the onboard and external GPU's are active it could be a PSU issue. Any chance of being able to test the video card in another system?
