I have a XFX 6800XT agp card. PV-T-42K-UDE3 the problem is the card is overheating during game play. The fan seems to be moving hard to see the way the card is mounted in my case however NVmonitor says it is running 675 RPM. The temps are 42'C at idle and 121'C under load. CPU TEMP is steady at 48'C under load and 35'C at idle. My case is well ventilated I have two 80mm(72CFM combined) exhaust, and I have a 120mm(133CFM) intake fan. I also have a VGA vent with another 80mm(32CFM) exhaust fan. This problem just started about two days ago. I did take the HSF unit off the card and removed the original thermal paste and applied A/C 5 and reseated the HSF unit still no change. Any ideas or is this card fried?

Did you blow out the fan with canned air to get out all the dust? It may be time for an RMA if that does not help. Respond to your XFX Support ticket confirming your shipping address and phone number is correct.

Yes I cleaned it when I removed the HSF.

Hope that they can help you out. In my case I just had a 7900GS AGP go out after 2 months and they don't have anymore. So I'm out of luck, they wanna send me a PCI-E card that is better, yes, but useless without a PCI-E system, which I don't have. Not impressed with their AGP Warranty support. It was their idea to print Double Lifetime Warranty, why should the consumer suffer for their false advertising?

I can understand your frustration. I purchased a ti-4600 back in 03 from visiontek with a lifetime warranty that they never honored. Perhaps they made a mistake about the PCI-E and meant AGP? Hope it works out for you. Keep us update though

No, there was no misunderstanding. They have no more AGP cards equal or better, they don't make them anymore. They have also had mine a while now already, as I shipped it off to them on January 11th. I have more info about it if you're interested in my "XFX 7900GS AGP dead after 2 months" thread if you don't mind a little reading.

I received my replacement card but it arrived DOA. Booted up loaded driver went to run benchmark and it went blue with horizontal black lines. I first made sure I had a solid power connection. Reinstalled the drivers and reverted to a older driver. Same thing blue screen with black lines. This is really getting frustrating trying to get a decent card that will last longer than 6 months. :(

What PSU do you have?
Did you un-install the old drivers first?

Hey Miker,
I have a Ultra 550 X2 modular PSU. I also uninstalled the drivers first. I even went so far as to re-seat the card and tried a different power supply cable. Still nothing.

What CPU is in your PC?
Also, I would run driver cleaner as you might have some old drivers stuck in your PC.

Thanks for the phone call XFX. This is why my last 4 graphics cards have all been XFX. Great customer service.
