I had an xfx 8800gt that i purchased through newegg. it was giving me the notorios NV4_DISP.DLL bsod that everyone seems the be having on the net. it would run all day long in windows but in games it would only last a few min before freezing and giving the bsod. DL and insalled all the latest drivers ect.. (btw this is a brand new computer) but it still had the same problem. the only luck i had was with the lastest driver i got from xfx website (32 i think) after using that it the games would freez but i woudn't get the bsod and i could ctrl-alt-delete back to windows. but after that i could not get any game to even start properly without restarting windows. currently i have RMAed the card with newegg and i'm waiting to see if a new one will fix the problem. what i am wondering is if there is any offical information on why this seems to be happening to so many cards. are they just defective? have other people RMAed them and had the new ones work? also i had my fan set to 100% and the card was running under 60c in games so heat is not a problem. nor is my power supply.
